The lawsuit MJ had with NASCAR was over EXACTLY what Feld does: Sponsor Poaching. You're a team owner. You bring on associate sponsors. You're required by Feld to register said sponsors with them. Felds marketing team then approaches your sponsor with a variation of, "when that rider gets hurt, your logo on their shroud isn't getting any screen time. We can offer you much more exposure on the stadium banner/signage and jumbotron than you'll ever get on the side of one of those bikes." Eventually they side with Feld and end up spinning around the stadium banner, just like GEICO...

Good point. The venues are responsible to comply with all local noise laws. Hangtown had noise measurements happening to the north of the track this year. Washougal has spent an unbelievable sum just monitoring noise in legal battles with neighbors. Can you imagine a track's use permit being canceled from violating noise laws over fans' mechanical noisemakers? Also, hearing damage. I love loud stuff as much as anyone, but even the World Cup banned vuvuzelas.

If its banned then they should go take it from the jackass once they see it made it past, smash it with a sledgehammer and kick them out for the weekend. If you dont show you mean business people will call your bluff and do it anyway.

I’d say it’s creating, or at least promulgating, problems for no real benefit other than a nostalgic notion of anyone being able to qualify. Having half the field being lapped and 15-20% being lapped twice does not improve the racing. Despite the name the US Nationals are no longer a domestic national series. It rivals the official world championship in almost every aspect other than the fact that all the races are in one country. People (collectively) are calling for better financial rewards for the riders. The only way that happens from where we are is more dollars from TV...

You know I’ve watched the entire MXGP season so far on TV and I can say this - having far fewer riders on the gate makes absolutely zero difference to the spectacle. In fact when you watch US Nationals and MXGP back-to-back on the same weekend one thing becomes very obvious - the leaders in MXGP aren’t battling groups of 2-3 lappers in the back half of the race. At High Point, 450 moto 2 there 22 lappers still circulating on the last lap, and six of those had been lapped twice. Contrast that to the GP of Italy, 450...

Look at item "g" in the rules. Basically, AMA Pro Racing can add anybody to the entry list they want. Which makes sense. In the end, the goal is to create a show. They'd rather have Lucas Coenen racing if he shows up at the last minute than have a local privateer fail to qualify.

But it is pretty crazy that its the peak of our sport and such a big series with so many factory teams and big money being thrown around... yet, any one can turn up and try and qualify. legit question, what is the perk of having so many riders trying to qualify for 40 positions,

Did he fade? Moto 1 held off deegan and got close to Jett Moto 2 fought plesssinger to the death for how long? And put a gap into marchbanks while battling with ap, where was the fade exactly?

The simple fact is that, as good as he is, and as dialed in on his KTM as he is… he just doesn’t have the pace to run with the Lawrence’s and Deegan. And today, his teammate Plessinger found enough motivation and speed to pass him, too. Prado’s not perfect, but he’s worlds better than this time last year on the bike that just ended Sexton’s season.
