Eh 4 stroke, change the oil once a year and service the air filter. It will run forever.

The Kirkland stuff is made by Warren Distribution (WD), they also make the Supertech stuff sold at Walmart. Heard the Kirkland diesel stuff had a little bit of moly in it, can't attest to that as I haven't seen a product datasheet. I don't see JASO-MA listed on the bottle. Typically wet clutch oil has no moly as it can create slippage problems.

Amsoil guys I'm a dealer now since about a month ago. I'd like to get some guys on as a sponsorship at a cheaper price. Anyone interested message me.

That's retail pricing but we can do better than that.

I know that convenient to say, and usually true, but it’s not hard to see how decisions were deliberately made by this administration that increased the severity of the price shocks we’re seeing. When you pull drilling permits, essentially decimate the US oil and gas industry, and go back to relying heavily on foreign countries/cartels that don’t like to play nicely for your supply you’re clearly asking for a price shock when demand returns. Arguing the pros and cons of the ESG push is an entirely different discussion that’s riddled with opinions on both sides, but the causes of the massive increase in energy costs are pretty much clear as day for anyone following markets.

Castrol, I’m not sure what kind, but I know they make an oil compatible with wet clutches.

If we are paying $4 a gallon in November, we are all in trouble next summer. I think I am the only person on the planet seeing that at the moment.

It was over $4.50/gal here at the end of Bush II's term in the mid '00's.

This too shall pass...

Man, I remember when I was about 13 yrs old. There was gas for my KX80 but no 2-stroke oil left in our garage. The oldman and ol lady were at work and I had no money for oil.

My oldman got home that afternoon with some 2-stroke oil. When he walked into the garage he said something to the tune of WTF?? He could smell the bike right away and was ready to throttle my neck.

Desperate to ride I mixed a 5liter gas with cooking oil and got my afternoons ride in without blowing the thing up. I vaguely remember the smell of fish n chips.

The oldman let it slide and I think he was rather chuffed at my commitment to get my pratice in. He is 85 yrs old now and its one of his favourate stories.

Can't comment on the shortage of Rotella and wont recommend cooking oil but im sure you guys will make a plan.

12 ripe bananas in the blender may suffice Whistling
Thats a cool story. I did the same except with two stroke garden equipment oil. Big end bearing gone. Tough lesson that one was.

You think the entire year's price increases, which have taken place on a global market, arise from a 60 day pause in permit issuing in January? Or 70 permits pulled? (2500 issued in first six months of 2021).

No, I think the entire year’s price increases have been due to increased regulation and a push toward renewables in a time span that’s completely unrealistic. Look at the crisis in Europe right now over natural gas, we just aren’t able to pick up the slack with renewables at this point and you’re seeing the pain inflicted from trying to do so at all costs.

I’m trying not to make this entirely political, but it’s absolutely laughable to cut off US supplies of oil and then beg a middle eastern cartel to produce more after you realize they your plan has shit the bed and is causing financial pain to lower and middle class Americans. We would have still seen a supply shock no matter what happened, but it never needed to get to this point and because of choices made and policies implemented we don’t have a plan B. No US oil producer in their right mind is going to invest in new drilling under this administration since they now know their permits could be pulled at any time it’s politically popular to do so.

That's just not what's behind it. There is no flat out revoking of active permits it was 70 that were in the process of being issued and hadn't go through the correct approval process.

US oil production is only down about 10% compared to 2019 (pre-pandemic) levels (up compared to 2020) and Saudi sells oil at the market rate.
