BUT results would hinge on being able to get a good start against the 450’s and being mistake free, which is a big ask on a 2t. Mistakes on a 2t typically cost multiple seconds a lap, not half a second like on a 450. Track surface would make a huge difference too.
There’s no way to know either way, but fair off season banter. I just wish they’d let 250 2t’s back in the 250 class.
He had some really bad races his last couple of years, and there is no reason to think he'd be kicking ass on a KX250 when he was getting smoked on a RMZ450. But I could see him qualifying and running mid-pack to the back of the pack. Busting out podiums? No. (Disclaimer: I'm high right now).
There’s no way he is taking that wheel borrow of a bike and putting it on the podium against 450’s with 20 more ponies, and 7,000 RPM’s
Y’all are underestimating how good these new bikes are.
If 05 Stewart raced modern 450 guys on 05 style SX tracks he would do some damage for sure, I think the modern SX tracks put the 2 stroke at a bigger disadvantage.
I'd argue they're not as technical, not as steep, whoops are smaller and shorter... shit we even have berms again so the flat corner aspect is gone.
Tbh the "quad-god" bullshit hysteria has completed subsided – really, when was the last time a technical or massive quad was the deciding factor in a race. It was probably 2012 Stewart in LA.
Again, 2003–2005, RC, CR and James had no issues with Ferry or KW on 450s. None at all. Sure the bikes are better, but what are talking about? Because I'd bet those three on 2005/2006 450s would be winning today no question.

Could somebody put this through one if them AI programs to enhance the quality?
I will however agree with your point about tracks.
I think if you put 05 Bubba on a super technical track from 2001 against modern 450s it would be close.
Id love to see these guys ride 450s on a track from the early 2000s with big ass whoops.
I was just getting at how much easier to ride these new bikes are. The tracks also flow much more to suit the bikes.
I was 13 years old in 2005. I remember every race that season like it was yesterday. I forget how exciting bubba made the races.
Toronto 14, stew was jumping a quad in the rhythm section that helped him win, Seattle he attempted one again but it accomplished nothing.
Stew should headline at the Grand Ole Opry
Well...maybe not, but you know what I mean.
