It’s okay as a different angle for a replay. But they overdid it by using it as a live camera for a fair few sections at a time.

Less is more, but it’s not a substitute for a live action angle.

I enjoyed it when it got behind the riders, like when it went under the banner. Thought that was pretty cool. Plus I feel it gives a bit more perspective on the difficulty of some of the rhythm sections.

Agreed, I cant see the riders technique which is part of why I watch. Also have a hard time telling who I'm even looking at. Personally I could go without, or a very very little.

The image was a little choppy, I don't know if it needed more image stabilization or what. The other feedback I have is: have another person control the zoom on the drone camera. Most of the time it was so far away. I think there is potential for the drone shots to be better than the helicopter shots we have sometimes

Probably not too many years off from it working, but for me its not there yet.

The drone shots are brilliant in this racing and other events. There was a lot today but not too much, for me. You could not use them as close to the action at Washougal, Pala was perfect given how open it is.

I will not complain too much about the broadcast when I am waking up at 3am to watch the qualifying live followed by the racing at 6am. I am grateful.

There is no way to cover all the action everywhere all the time. There will be passes missed, but it beats waiting for a B&W magazine to turn up 3 months after the event.

It was good today, I don't like it when the drone pilot is trying to show of how good a pilot they are doing loops and spins and shit, if they can focus on a particular rider or battle, then yeah im all for it its a really cool change up from the fixed camera positions and shows a different perspective of the track.

If anyone watched natural selection (snowboarding) over the winter it was all shot on drones, nothing fancy from the pilot just centered on the rider. That is how the drones should be used.

Resolution was straight out of 2002, would rather watch the race on VHS. At least that has nostalgia value.

The drone shots are really cool and it gives a brand new perspective to the racing. It’s good to see the TV production crew experimenting with new things.

If I could mention one improvement, I think they need to speed a little bit more on the drone camera and and upgrade to a better version. I will say the the picture feed was just a little bit “amateurish” compared to the normal cameras. The clarity and resolution needs to be a wee bit better to be on National TV.

Serious Question, how can Tom, and other guys that make videos of the day have so much better quality video than the NBC race footage? It’s like 4K vs 420p.

Because that footage isn't streamed live. They have to cut down the resolution a ton so it won't buffer I'd have to imagine.

I'm a no, like others said, overused. Made me feel kinda sick a few times when they went on for long stretches, but I get vertigo and motion sickness easy. My fiance walked by during 1st motos and said....what is that, that's a horrible shot. I watched the 2nd motos later in the evening and found myself fast forwarding the drone footage.

I loved it. Maybe used a little more than needed but bravo for adding a new element. The stream quality was crap but you gotta start somewhere. It solves the problem almost everyone complains about... It allows them to simultaneously follow two battles on camera at the same time.

I thought the drone was cool, but I’m with the folks who think that maybe it was overused a bit. It’s nice to see things from a different perspective.

My favorite footage, drone or not, was of the large rolling jumps before a left turn.

I loved it, but I'd prefer to see the drone chasing the riders from as consistent an angle as possible. I don't like the Star Wars aspect of the drone flying all over the place. Also, there should be rules about where you can fly it. Going under the start/finish banner seems unnecessary and dangerous.

Hated it. I have nearly a 60 inch tv and couldn’t even tell who we were chasing, who was battling, and even what color the bike was.

They have there place for certain videos, but hard no in this instance from me.

Overall I liked it. Agreed they need to tone it done a bit and mix in with different camera angles. Also noticed the drone shadow a couple of times on the track. Not sure if that would be distracting for the riders or not.

I think everyone would like it more if it was clear. The quality looked like I was watching vintage 90's motocross on YouTube.

That's my only gripe. I'm definitely pro drone.
