The battery is low on the chassis, a bit of a pain to remove as it's wrapped in a 'battery condom'. The air filter is basically upside-down and accessed through the left side panel. No need to remove the seat for any service. It is mounted by two forward bolts near the shrouds and slides forward. And, the mating exhaust clamp is under-engineered, IMO. Looks like a Home Depot item.

Do you think the exhaust clamp could be an issue in the future?
You are sure the air filter cover is two bolts? There is only one bolt on the 450R, I tough the cover design was the same.

You are sure the air filter cover is two bolts? There is only one bolt on the 450R, I tough the cover design was the same.
The left cover to access the airbox is one bolt. To remove the seat is two bolts, one on each side. The exhaust clamp will be a non-issue. Yosh pipes available in November, material shortage I've heard.

I’ll be shocked if they DON’T switch before season is over. If Jett wins the championship on the new bike that’s great for Honda sales. If they lose they can say they didn’t have the set up dialed. Big risk, but even bigger reward right?

BTW Grant Langston switched from the 2007 to the 2008 Yami 450 and won the 2007 championship. The bikes were very similar, but frame changes around the head tube made a big improvement in handling.

I’m in Plainfield but the dealer is in Ottawa. He said Honda told him beginning of September I’m pretty excited first 250f in a long time been on yzs for about last 10 years.

Is the air inlet in that black piece or is it just a handle to pick the bike up? If so is there an inlet in both pieces on both sides or just the left one? If not where does the air come in from?

Look at Swap motos video, they say low-mid power is on even par with all the other 250F's but still with the top end

Not my bike, but I did spins some laps on the '22 yesterday. Out of the crate it was clearly better than an '18-'21. The completely stock '22 on pump gas was better than my buddies mildly modded '20 with Yosh pipe, remap, race gas. Understandably, it would not compete against my full Tokyo Mods '19. I did come away very impressed with it though. The added low end (map 3) coupled with proper transmission ratios made it an absolute blast to ride.

The handling wasn't any better than the '19 or '20 IMO, and I didn't feel the 8lbs. difference in weight other than when lifting it on or off the stand or pushing it around. Again, it was a blast to ride! I couldn't say that about a stocker '18-'21.

Factory teams order their '22 parts from japan next october. They would be running the ' 22 bikes without factory parts or testing.

Happens all the time when new bikes are released now. It’s more uncommon for a team to switch bikes mid year. Yes it’s happened but less common I would say.
