I think a big reason why he has endurance issues is because of his arm/nerve problem. He seemed to hang it all out for 30min +2 in the 2019 outdoor season when he was fully healthy. I'd like to see a fully healthy AC on the 450 not riding over his head. It took him 5 or so years to make it that far on the 250 so it may take just as long on the 450, but I still believe he'll get there. Keep in mind the only dudes who were able to be 450 champions within their first two seasons are names like Stew, Carmichael, Reed, Villopoto, and Dungey. His chances of having careers like them are close to zero at this point (in my opinion), but I still think he has it in him to put together a championship or two in the next few years.
I think this year, although mega frustrating for him with the arm issue is going to pay dividends once its fixed. He’s got the speed at every round and he’s getting laps under his belt, learning how to make the best out of every weekend.
If he can go into next year 100% healthy I’ll happily bet he’ll be one of the main championship contenders in both series.
He's 26 next year, looks nicely skin folded not shredded like an endurance athlete, goes very fast but runs out of puff and concentration then crashes and dislocates his abnormally shallow arm sockets .
He is a nice young man but hard to see him winning a 450 crown.
Still think it can be due to thoracic outlet syndrome. He bulked up a little too much. Probably weighs 190+. Will see if moving the ulnar nerve works but may ultimately need removal of first rib.
He was 2nd last year and won the 250 title the year before, and has still qualified fastest at a bunch of races this year in or out... Pretty sure he’d definitely be in contention.
Regardless of his nerve issues, I don’t know if he has the full 40 mins in him just yet, his beginning of race sprint speed is unparalleled, but he seems to drop off just a little as the rest improve.
If he could bottle that start of race sprint speed he would have a lot more race wins.

Do ya think that maybe the nerve issue causes that….kind of happens when your arm goes numb…
He seems a lot like Trey Canard. Really fast but doesn't quit know his limit and tends to be over his head with the fastest guys. When I joke around I say he likes to crash as much as Canard does, Of course it is fun to watch until he crashes but it isn't sustainable.

Well yeah he drops off at the end of the motos BECAUSE of the nerve issue. He cant hold on to the bike and barely feels his throttle hand.
I dont pass judgement on riders with problems like that. Arm pump is one thing, but legitimate nerve issues is a whole other ball game. Even with arm pump you can still have like 10% feeling, obviously not ideal but you probably wont kill yourself accidently going WFO, unless you arent aware of whats going on. I think hes doing just fine considering, hes got more points that pooper webb on that factory KTM.
I see it a little like Eli a few years back. Adam has unreal ability to cut fast laps but you can only ride that close to or outside your envelope for so long before it bites you.
This should have been AC's year... last year he was one take out of Ozzy away from the 450 nat championship... AC should always regret that, not often you have a legit shot at a 450 title, and AC wouldn't pull the trigger... this year, he has looked off, and def not a title contender.... supposedly he has next level speed, but can't he can't seem to stay off the ground... looks a bit like K-Dub after he gave up title hopes...
It's the bike! He needs to be on Star lol. No one on Star bikes are having arm pump issues lol. Just think, Star would have DF, AC, ET, AP, CC and anyone else they can afford to get them a championship lol.

He had a dnf at the start of the year in Tenn that cost him the title I thought.

Exactly Don. I dislocated my left elbow really bad, where bones were nearly compounded up under my bicep and had facing wrong way. this was in my early 20's. Now 47 my hand goes numb been to specialist and MRI etc - several things bone fragment, joint arthritis and my ulna nerve is 1/3 bigger than right - possible surgery and they place it under your forearm muscle.
I struggle sometimes doing weights etc with numbness and there is nothing I can do. it is the most frustrating feeling and can understand how it would effect you BIG TIME riding a motorbike no matter how fit or strong you are.
Speed has never been a question. He won his first supercross he entered. He can’t seem to put all the puzzle pieces together to be a champion that will go down in the record books. Very few can.
Just me or does it make sense that he should take it a little easier on qualifying and save those last 10 mins for his arm...

LOL
We were at High Point and my brother said, "AC was trying to set a heater almost ever lap in practice" (while also noticing Kenny only did 2 or 3 fast lap in each session). I said, "maybe AC should take it a little easier in practice and save it for the motos"... and seeing how he faded in moto 2 I think it might have been good to ease up some in practice.

In his vlog ac basically said he knows his arm won’t hold up all moto regardless of what he does so he is just going to go as fast as he can as long as he can. I think AC prob would prefer to have those fast laps in the books. These guys only have two 15 min sessions. You dick around for the majority of it and it could mess with his flow. Just my opinion. Multiple ways to skin a cat or whatever the saying is.

Wat?
He is nothing like Tomac.
Eli is strongest at the end: Crashasarulio only goes fast at the start- or before the start in Q.
