Dang never would guess people would stick this much in a mini unless they were on the cusp of being factory supported.... of course I just saw a klx110 listed for 4 grand so this isn’t terrible....

At least he acknowledges that the bike is too much for the kid. I've seen so many mini dads make their 85cc or 65cc bikes way, way too fast and difficult to ride for the kid.

Imagine spending all that money, and the kid would be faster with a stock properly jetted engine with the suspension done.

the super mini class has always been stupidly over priced, but back when I was selling bikes those were the easiest to sell new or used.

My dad spent 15k on a super mini for me when I was 13....A kit, motor, Ti everything, hubs rims, triple clamps, you name it.

It wasn’t until my lap times didn’t change a bit that he realized none of it was necessary (it was bad ass, but not necessary).

The top of the class (your Izzi, Alessi,Ciancirulo,Reynolds) can probably justify it, but not many other 13 year olds can actually get the potential outta that expensive of a machine.

But hey, to each their own....if pops can foot the tab, have at it!

Dudes spending big money to build 18+ KTM 105's are getting ripped off. Just a few tweaks and that engine runs so damn well & delivers smooth power. I watched my 130lb kid pull with a fully built 112 time after time on the Washougal uphill. Rideable power beats total power every single time........

Yeah we had a kid recently at a local track that is way too small for an 85 cause a big crash with my kid. This kid can't touch the ground so to not go down he just grabs a handful. Biggest squirrel ever. His mom runs around telling everyone how fast he is all the time. The kids not even fast. This is the same type of guy here that puts a kid straight from that 85 onto a 250f. It's like some parents just want to watch their kids weed themselves.

Not every track/club has super mini class though that I'm aware of? I'm talking everyday folk racing with jr that's too small for 125/250F or old/big/fast enough to race a super mini that doesn't have a grid to line up on. Kid here def wasn't of the later by sounds of it.

The seller looks like the classic example of a Dad building a bike for Himself / his Ego.

If the son is physically large enough for a Supermini, the Mini Dad could just tone the power down to what the little bloke is comfortable with. I don't think the price of another barrel and piston (as an example) would be a hurdle, after spending what he already has.

But, I guess, it then " wouldn't be fast enough" - for the Dad , that is.
