Aussies team will be hard to pick barring injuries.
Lawrence Brothers, Jed Beaton, Mitch Evans, The Duffman, Luke Clout, Todd Waters.
Pffft may aswell send 2 teams and make it a Podium 1-2Woohoo
The Lawrence brothers and Evans appear strongest at this point.

Stronger than who? You think the Lawrence bros (one of which would most likely have to ride a 450) and Evans would be stronger than Tomac, Barcia, Osborne, AC, Plessinger, Anderson, Webb, Sexton, Mookie, J Cooper, Nichols, Forkner, Craig etc, etc, etc? Pick any 2 of those 450 guys and one of the 250 guys and they have a legit shot at a podium. How many other countries can say that?

I don’t think anyone can beat the Netherlands at this point unless Coldenhoff or Herlings get hurt or don’t race it. The rest of the podium is up for grabs. France will really miss Paulin by the way.
Bad boy is talking about the Lawrence bro’s and Evans being Australia’s strongest team at this point, not strongest against everyone else.

There’s no doubt that once upon a time, the USA were THE stars of the show, but it hasn’t been that way for awhile.
They’re still a main attraction, but there’s often been others more impressive for the last decade.

As for the organisers doing zero to help your team??? WTF narcissistic attitude is that?! Sorry the world doesn’t revolve around you. The US has more resources on hand then most. Meanwhile riders from small countries barely able to afford a spare spark plug, make their own way every year, just for the privilege to compete. And often that’s in the middle of their own domestic series, yet they do it anyway, and are happy to.

Time to put on your big girl panties and put up, or shut up.

Very solid and classy points CPR. It’s an irrelevant race and we have nothing to prove. The evolution of the sport over here and in places like AUS are placing more emphasis in different arenas. maybe if they did a combined MXGP & SXGP that would be the true test.

As far as other countries with smaller budgets continuing to compete, that’s their choice. It’s no hidden fact that budgeting has put a damper on things. The level that the US is expected to compete at is far different from that of smaller countries. Maybe if more countries stopped participating the promoters would be forced to help the smaller guys.
Plus I find more enjoyment watching TP199 and Ronnie Mack doin backflips on the parade lap and raising money for fundraisers

Anyway

Irrelevant to you not the thousands of American core motocross fans. You are correct with “we have nothing to prove”. I’m totally fine with the USA not winning. We ain’t all that anymore. We don’t have to win. We just have to try. Enjoy your Ronnie Mac vids. We will find a way to get through the MXoN’s without you.
I’m as core Mx fan as it get. That’s ok though they’ll race us when it’s time.

Canada always has such a good team on paper, yet it rarely translates into decent finishes. I feel sorry for the Canadian team and often they're my underdog follow. If it wasn't for the pesky Irish team, winning all the b finals and making it into the main event by the skin of their teeth. It feels like they've done that every year since time began.

Not ruling it out, but I doubt it. A lot of BS/Politics with the CMA. The one that was putting the stick in the wheels finally retired, so things will hopefully start to change.

Benoit is back at it. Kaven > Cannella IMO, any size bike.

It's all academic anyway.

I know he's a real estate agent now, but didn't know he was back at it. That's awesome.

Put Kaven on the 450 in the Open class and Pettis in MX2. As solid of a team as it could get for us.

Without the USA it’s just another weekend race. The organizers and promoters do zero to help our teams and riders yet we are the stars of the show. Plus traveling outside the country isn’t why it used to be. I don’t see the us having a reason to send anyone any time soon.

No advantage to anyone as the track will be new.

The question is, which country will be able to field a stronger team than JH, GC and CV (Nederlands)?

The US has the riders but will they go?
Maybe France can challenge NL? It’s a shame last year’s race MXdN in Ernee was cancelled. They would have been the favorite to start a new streak.

All theoretical but T-Dags needs to be there if he's riding. He's ridden well at most of the MXoN he's done.

Aussies haven't had this much of a talent selection since the Reed, Byrner, Metcalf and Moss days.
Pretty cool to see.
Would be an amazing effort to podium. safe to say the Aussie MX/SX following has a bright future ahead!

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this years MXdN gets cancelled. Wouldn’t have thought decisions have been made yet but probably unlikely that any overseas teams, USA, Aus, Canada, Brazil etc. Send a team this year and for everyone in Europe it’s going to be in the middle of the season so far from ideal for them also. In my opinion with MXdN you should either do it properly or not at all, you can’t do it half heartedly. Sack it off this year and come back with a bang next year in Ernee

Fully agree, it is for me one the most important race of the year, so you do it properly or you don't do it at all !

MXON in a middle of a season ?! Not logical for anyone involved...
So let's regroup for next year with a proper MXON with all the countries involved (including USA).

A top rider hasn't gone over to the USA since Roczen, you can make the case for ferrandis maybe but he didn't set the world on fire in the GPs.

The days of winning a mx2 world title and moving to the USA at 18/19 are gone. Prado moved to a 450 instead of going.

My sources say that GP factory teams won’t be happy to have their riders racing MXdN when they’re in the midst of an MXGP championship quest.

After our performances of the last decade, I’d suggest sending three riders that are hungry, that have never been invited previously, along with a team manager and staff, that have never been blessed with the appointments, previously. Time to try a new approach.

Yeah I can imagine so. Unfortunately it’s not easy to get teams and riders up for this race in the first place, having it mixed in at the business end of the season isn’t going to help. It’s not just me being a downer on it, I’m always up for a MXdN. I’ve just heard that there is a decent possibility that it gets cancelled for this year

I was booked for Ernee... And had to cancel all of it. If they are going to Ernee next year, I hope my wife will be game again. MXoN 2022, here I come!
