I totally agree with those here who are asking for transparency on who posts the thumbs up...and those who post the thumbs down on a post. It would make things much more...interesting. You'd have a lot less thumbs downs as well.

I agree. I usually get a quick thumbs down, even for a funny post. It doesn’t bother me. I,m not Einstein, but it’s pretty easy to figure out who did it. Thumbs up is positive and down is negative. Why hide the negative people. Watch thumbs down with in, 30 seconds.

Not sure if this has been suggested, but what about a multi-quote option? This would allow someone to quote multiple posts and reply to each within one post instead of having to reply to each one individually. I think this would help in threads like the race day threads where posts are added quickly.

I hit thumbs up but never have thumbs down thats for anonymous dorks imo. Same reason I don't honk because the idiot is already screwing up and my horn will just make an idiot screw up some more but I always enjoy the show. Stupid people are entertaining and there is no lack of entertainment out there.

Here’s a change that might help you guys: cache ads so the back button returns the same ad. Sometimes I’ll catch a glimpse of an ad I want to see as I’m waiting for a page to load or I want to see an ad I missed. It would be nice if I could go back and find them.

How many views on threads.
That's available on desktop. Should be an easy fix for mobile.

Is there really no way to get another members attention? We can’t @ them. We can’t private message them effectively. We can’t write something on their profile page. Very frustrating trying to communicate with someone about an item I want to purchase when you can’t get their attention.

Touché. I don’t run ad block on vital because all ads are very specific to moto. It’s also kind of a nice pulse on the industry and to see who’s spending money for that kind of stuff. All my Instagram follows are moto and most of the sites I visit are moto related, so it’s not like I can completely blind myself to people trying to sell me stuff.

I like these companies and I want them to succeed, so I kind of enjoy seeing their ads. I’ll even click them once in a while.

Not sure if anyone asked ... if you've looked at a thread before can it automatically go to the last post instead of the first?
Havea great day .

Drop kick the guys who post negative comments about people’s families. A member was subjected to a “rubbing your mom is racing” comment awhile back.
Sadly, the worst part was, this member’s mom had recently passed.

Fix search function to be forum specific. IE if you search something in For Sale it pulls results from every forum on the site not just the For Sale section. The For Sale section could be a great resource to the sport but needs separate categories for Bikes, Parts, Gear and WTB.

Remove the thumbs down, it does nothing positive.

Someone could say their partner has got over cancer & now is expecting twins & some twat will still downvote it.

There currently is forum-specific search. "Site search" is in the upper right of all pages, while "search forum" is in the upper center-left all forum pages. Forum search has a filter to limit your search to a specific section. Do you see these tools? We don't have categories within the For Sale section, so thanks for that suggestion.

I was clicked a few weeks ago, likely related to the "Why Does She Wear a Mask" thread. I reached out to GuyB but never heard a response, so I assume that account is locked for good. I don't believe anything I posted was too bad, but anyway I'll start anew and stick to a moto-only life on Moto-related. And my goal is to be more or less a positive contributor at all times. End confession.

I am not 100% opposed to some form of membership fee, if the money can be used to create a better experience overall. I think most of us in here are diehard fans, many current riders, some like me are ex-riders who just love to follow the sport and exchange opinions. My observations from other media I interface with (cycling related) is that a member section for exchange is a lot less ugly when people are paying a bit of money to participate. Much like the comment sections on YouTube and Instagram, things tend to degrade rapidly when anyone can just pop in and antagonize people.

If you use Google Chrome, open up a regular google page and search chrome://flags. Then in the search box, type in dark mode, and change the default setting to "Enabled". Every page you visit will now be in dark mode.

I would 100% take away the thumbs down, if not the thumbs up also. Look at most topic posts, they have downgrades for no reason...they are meaningless and it would give the forum some class if they were gone. If you keep it but give the identities away, you will just get a whole heap of abusive inbox messages going ba k and forward so I personally don't think that would be the answer.

I use both the thumbs up and thumbs down and doing so I don't feel the need to post near as much and I also think with less posts it makes the threads less cluttered. I never even knew or cared that you could see who gives you a thumbs up and don't care how many or who gives thumbs down. The forum seems more civil without as much name calling with the thumbs down feature but it seems to hurt a whole lot of feeling and not sure why. Crazy how many people claim they don't care about getting thumbs down but they sure whine about it, it's damn embarrassing. Blush

Desktop mode needs to be upgraded to a responsive format. Adjust width and uses full screen. Would reduce scrolling up and down. The left/right hand column space is old school.

$20 to post or maybe just offer the premium features your adding and help cover dev cost and allow a "supporter" icon next to avatar so you now if someone's post is a supporter.

If an account gets banned and they try to signup again, it's going to get expensive for them.

Agree search is pretty horrible, most of us try to find something from say 3 days ago or if it's already got a thread started to respond that got lost off the first page and unable to find it again. It's almost like the old post show first in the search and not the newest matches at the top.

Are you using the Site Search or Forum Search? We added Forum Search last year. It should work for the type of situation you described, so it would be good to know if it's not.

That's the sort of comment that'll help you find the exit sooner rather than later...especially when you make a habit of dancing on the edge. Smile

First time I open this thread, first post I read.
Now that's something revolutionary I'd truly enjoy: less threatening, less thinkpol, less censorship, less arbitrary, less clicking.

Yeah, yeah, I know where the door is...

I'd enjoy less of all that, too. Unfortunately, sometimes I have to remind people not to "you know what" where they eat.

Vital could be the pinkbike of moto if you guys added a classified section on par with them.

Also the anonymous thumbs down is funny sometimes but also lame. It’s really a pointless feature if you can’t see who’s disliking your post.

You get thumbs down because you use a comma when you should use apostrophe.Wink

Most of the clicking of people comes from opinions that are overly expressed about people/riders in our sport..wouldn’t you say?

Maybe there is a specific bench racing section where it’s literally all about who likes who and why...

Still clicking those who take it too far of course...but maybe that would trim it

I would like to have the ability to "Star," the legit informative topics and create my own favourates list by pushing them to the top of my list thus bypassing all the bullshit that pops up daily.

Also a commom gripe amongst many members are the controversial downvotes. Make them public for all to see as the downvotes cause animosity amongst members.

Some my have noticed but I'm starting to post less as the quality of the topics are on a downward spiral.

Respect to all you mods and all the great effort you put in....I do appreciate that your work cannot please everyone, hence me wanting my own limited ability to bump the crap down the list thus leaving me to enjoy the informative and often entertaining fun topics.

Remember the old saying....it takes a teaspoon of shit to spoil a tub of strawberries.

Thank you Mods.
