Sitting on display all those years. Tsk tsk.

That's just abuse.

I can’t believe someone would buy a brand new bike and not ride it, absolutely mental. Someone got some expensive wall art!

I bought a new '93 YZ250 from Capitol Yamaha back in the day. Definitely do not remember the seat being pink, that was more of a '92 thing.

I thought the euro versions had the pink seat covers in 93 not the purple the north American models had.

It was a UK Ebay listing so that makes sense.

I have a buddy who's dad has a shop FULL of bikes that have never been started, I'm talking 100+

The dude would buy two of each model, one went to his "museum" and the other got ridden/raced. It's a sight to behold. I'll be seeing him soon for his sons wedding coming up, I'm gonna hit him up for a tour and take tons of pics if I can.

He should open up to the public and charge $$. Say, maybe a certain amount of times per year. I would be willing to pay to see his collection.

I bet everyone thought it was foolish at the time, and now he’s sitting on a gold mine.

Guys it wasn't pink, it was magenta. At least that was my response every time my friends made fun of my '92.

He's a pretty weird dude, but I think his intent was always to open something like that. I had forgotten about it until this thread sparked a memory. I'm going to send a text out to my buddy (his son) and do some digging now!

I'll probably end up making a new thread (given his permission) and will share my findings as they come! He's typically pretty personable albeit private. we have a big race called the Top Gun team shootout here in the PNW and he let me race in his vintage 1980's pink answer gear once lol

I’m that idiot. Bought a brand new 17 SXF 350. Wanted to get back racing and riding a bit. Sold it unridden last summer. Literally. First time I rode it was a lap around my home quarter to make sure it ran for the guy.

Man. It felt sweet. Lol.

That is a good question. Lol. I have owned a ton of bikes. It’s actually amazing to me as well. Life is busy. I work full time about 50 hours a week. And I grain farm 500 acres. Time is my most valuable commodity.

I should be riding a bit though. I will say, that rip around the canola field that bike felt amazing. lol

I bought a brand new 09 KX250F from a lady in 2010. She bought it new from a dealer on the opposite coast and had it shipped to her house. Once she got it, she sat on it and decided it was too tall for her. Never even started it.

I'd like to come see that. I can keep a secret. Ex-three letter agency worker, several of them.

Hammer, I’ll keep that in mind. I’ve thought it would be cool to meet you ever since the help in Sacramento thread!

When I get the chance to talk to him I’ll make sure to hit you up in the DM’s

LOL you got one right. You missed DIA, DEA, DoD, and DOS (although there we were 4 at SDDS so that's out).

I can't believe it sold for that much I was shocked and had to do a double-take when it said it wasn't available and look at the price it sold for
