You can't sugar coat this.. Democrats are in bed with environmentalists, and if you have not noticed, changing the environment is on the top of the democrats list. If losing freedom to enjoy your sport/hobby bothers you that bad, educate yourself when you vote.
Have you been there? People die just about every year and the drinking/riding until 2am and ripping around the camp areas and people letting their dogs run loose and letting their trash blow all over the place...pretty much any weekend out there is ridiculous. A little bit of consideration for your fellow man would have gone a long way in keeping the complaints down and that would have kept this place open. Too many narcissistic dumbfucks that think they're the only person on the planet are exactly what has ruined Pismo. Play nice with your toys, kids, or they might be taken away from you.

The Coastal Commission knows full well that off roaders as a whole are weak willed, poor, disorganized, and lazy, so they do as they please.

If they were up against a group with money and legal power like the Sierra club, they would think twice about doing this.

I have been to some land use issus meetings dating. back to 1980. The AMA does absolutely nothing. Join CORVA and the Blue Ribbon Coalition. Also most UTV clubs are very involved with land use. That is just the way it works anymore. We are lucky here to have a full time lobbyist.

I'm writing a real letter on paper(not e mail) and sending it certified mail on Monday to Rob Dingman, the AMA president.

When I finish it I'll post a copy here for those interested in using it as a template to send their own letter.

The AMA is in Ohio, so possibly they don't know or care about the closure of these dunes, but I'm going to point it out to them.

Ive only ridden there once, but the amazing dunes there should be not lost to responsible off roaders and their families.

...this is what caused this problem in the first place, as you pointed out the "narcissistic dumb fucks".

There are way too many of those in Moto and off roading, Why off roading is a white trash magnet I'll never figure out.

Golf cost about the same or less when you add everything up, and you don't see the majority of golfers doing stupid shit on golf courses.

I hear you. It seems that is the case for any hobby/sport where motors are involved, it attracts people with zero consideration. We have even have a lake here that has always been popular for cruising/ wakeboarding/ whatever that they had to actually put rules in place that it is illegal to stop in your boat and sit and enjoy, for the same reasons you noted above, and comes with a $700 ticket if you get caught stopping and enjoying (Lake Tapps for the locals). You can drive all you want, but as soon as you stop and sit in a peaceful cove, you are open to a massive ticket. The locals got that sick of the partying and noise, they had to do something. Dumbshits ruined it for everyone (including themselves).

I would post how the powers that be caving to liberals is absolutely ruining our state, but the last time I even mentioned politics I was banned.....

People are literally shooting up, shitting, and dying on the streets two hours south of the dunes, but because the knobbies on our tires are apparently racist, this needs to be handled immediately.

I’m all for protecting our environment from harm, but I think this case is about one group of people being able to dominate another group because they don’t like the activity of the off roaders.
It’s not liberal or conservative, it’s tribalism.

This situation has nothing to do with politics. It has to do with money and power.

The people who want to ban off roading in this area are organized, well funded, and have the resolve and discipline to get what they want.

Off roaders have none of those things.

Even in this forum of dirt bike riders, people just dont care, and I can prove it - currently, there are 15 pages of opinions of Rutledge Wood, a guy who has no effect on their lives - but this topic where a riding area is being blatantly closed because of an arbitrary decision, gets almost no attention.

Just like in life, the people who are organized and work hard to achieve a goal normally win. The lazy self indulgent people lose.

Same thing happening out here too. Seems like they just keep closing areas and we never get anything new opened up. Plus a bunch of land owned by Rio Tinto and the LDS church that just sits for nothing. Pretty lame.

I don't care who you are, if the CA Costal Commission wants to do something, it will happen. Plenty of uber wealthy people in the Malibu area and up north have lost countless lawsuits to try and make the beaches in front of their residences private property. David Geffen spent millions trying to get a beach access easement closed that was on his property on Carbon beach. He lost every time. Same with Broad Beach where some of the wealthiest people in the world live/have weekend homes.

In the case of Pismo beach, the CCC has the rich on their side, so that's why we are where we are now.

Yes, the old bait and switch. Buy up cheap property next to those loud, dusty, motorsickle places, then use any ploy to get stop 'em so your property value increases. Agree with Brent, not a liberal/conservative issue. Probably even sold places on the promise of getting the riding area shut down due "environmental" concerns.

Unfortunately every state has at least one big city. There aren’t enough of us normal folk to put an end to this nonsense. The entire country will be Los Angeles soon

But I’m not done fighting yet. I’m not leaving CA until they ruin the fun completely. Off-Roaders need to get smart and fight this stuff

I’m going to point out the obvious here for those people who live outside of Ca. There’s no point for you to say “Ca. gets what it deserves because YOU GUYS voted all these liberals in” on a motocross or dirt bike or off road forum.
