I just ordered one of these things for my 450, Im going to cut a square hole in my Pro taper pad to see if I can fit it inside, and then cover it with the pad cover.

I'll post photos of the success/failure ...

How much are they?

If I know someone who has one, can it be plugged into my bike to adjust settings?

What bike and what year? I believe the communications module is only compatible with the 2021 ECU and wiring harness.

The myKTM/Husky connectivity units MSRP $249.99. They will work on the 20.5 KTM/Husky 450 Factory/Rockstar Editions and the 21 KTM/Husky 250/350/450SXF/XCF models (and Husky FX350). The dealer has to connect the unit to the bike's ECU so it cannot be transferred easily from bike to bike (the dealer can clear the unit and connect it to another bike). I've messed around with the myKTM unit on my 21 KTM 450FE and it can make noticeable changes to the engine character of the 450's (liven it up a little and also really tone it down for off road/trail use). The engine braking can be tuned and reducing it does free up the bike (Keefer noted this in his reviews). Once you input a map (always goes into Map 1) you can remove the connectivity unit and run a normal bar pad.

Hey guys

I scooped up a 21 KTM 450 FE and as you know, it comes with the ugly, bulky pad that houses the control unit.
Does anyone happen to have a solution to mount this thing out of the way? It's not as simple as just putting it behind the number plate, because in order to connect your phone to it the button has to be pushed. There is also a surrounding light that lets you know the status of the module that would be tough to see behind the plate. Hopefully we aren't stuck with this dumb pad 😬

Please share ideas!

Send it to me and I'll wrap it in vinyl and put your name and # on it.

The dealer told me I have to bring in my 21 KTM 450 so they can initialize the unit with my bike.
Supposed to be here next week, I guess the units are on back order,

I think the biggest issue with them is that there is Zero padding inside the flexible cover. As I said earlier, I put a Pro Taper pad, trimmed to fit, with a hole in the center on mine.. It looked OK but a little backyard. I ended up moving it the other day to the back of the front plate area and ordered another Pro Taper bar pad for the bike.

Looks like a cool product for $250, but having to go through a dealer sounds like a potential pain in the arse. Plus, it would make it harder to sell on the back end.

Maybe, but if it makes the bike easier to ride with less engine braking, then it’s worth it for me.
A vortex is a lot more money.

Once I get it I’ll put up how the bike feels with and without it.

Agreed.

I rode my 450 this weekend after weeks on a smoker and I did notice engine breaking for the first half lap, but afterwards the sensation goes away.

Although, having no engine breaking might be nice, along with making the first half of the power feel like a rmz450 lol.

Will be interested to see the dealership charges for hook up

NICE!

...somebody has been doing some 3D printing I see.

Are you selling those?

Does anybody know if these things are water resistant? do I have to take it off when I wash the bike?

Seems to me that KTM wouldn't have placed it in that protective enclosure if they thought the device was waterproof.

I put a sammich in mine for a mid track snack. In all honesty I made a small change and took it off. Tracks I frequent don't really have differing conditions.Couldn't they have built this into the ECU?

I'm interested too. I called Ride Engineering to see if they were going to make anything like this and they said not as of right now.

I have a feeling that when the 2022 models come out this will be changed, there is too much negative feedback.

In the meantime, Im waiting for my unit to arrive so I can can try to place in a cut out bar pad.

Just saw the video posted up with the FE build. Pretty neat trick with the Connectivity Unit. Wish they would have showed the relocation more in depth so we could come up with more ideas.

I have an old-fashioned carbureted bike and I’m just wondering if there’s anyway that I can wire up an analog light so that I can see it display on my handlebars to indicate that everything‘s in working order. So like when the bike is running I want a blue light on the handlebars indicating that the bike is running. Does anybody have any idea how I might be able to accomplish this?

Alternatively, is there any way to wire up something that I can wrap around my nutsack to deliver a pulse of electricity to my balls every time the cylinder cycles?

Ideally, I would have both, because that’s just how I roll.

Now that my creative juices are flowing, what I would really like to do is wire up one of those social media halo lights so that I can properly illuminate my sphincter and broadcast that live on social media while I’m riding but I want this to be powered by the motor, AND manageable from a mobile app. Any thoughts?

Check out the newest vital project build. Some company in Nevada or Cali relocated to the air box with the button in the side plate. Pretty cool.

I wish I could help you out but I’ve just been too busy riding and enjoying one of the most technologically advanced bikes ever created and sharing information about how to go about making cool modifications to it with people who own the same bike through a public online forum. Sorry.
