2021 Supercross Champion - who will it be?

The field is stacked. I tried to put them in finishing order for the year and I think Webb might take it in '21. If not Webb then Tomac but there's about 10 guys who could legitimately win this championship. Place your bets...

1 Cooper Webb
2 Eli Tomac
3 Adam Cianciarulo
4 Justin Barcia
5 Ken Roczen
6 Zach Osborne
7 Chase Sexton
8 Marvin Musquin
9 Jason Anderson
10 Malcom Stewart
11 Dylan Ferrandis
12 Blake Baggett
13 Joey Savatgy
14 Justin Brayton
15 Brock Tickle
16 Aaron Plessinger
17 Martin Davalos
18 Dean Wilson
19 Vince Friese
20 Benny Bloss
21 Justin Bogle
22 Shane Mcelrath

Everyone is hyped for AC for a championship but I just don’t see him getting through the season without some crashes, he got injured twice last year in SX..
would love to be proven wrong tho!

I expect a breakout year from Musquin. He had time to heal up and prepare. The hype is on all the other heavy hitters. Musquin could be sneaky good this year.

He was my pick for 2020. Should've had that knee fixed in the summer.

My money is on Webb but it's a tough one to call.
My vague prediction would be Webb, AC, Sexton, Mookie and Fernandez(jk) taking wins while the old guard struggle to get podiums.

NEW champ, KR is it. Repeat? Tomac or Web. My heart wants Anderson and Barcia to bring the shit to the show.

I don’t believe AC can stay steady. I don’t believe KR can finish strong. I don’t believe ET can get a start consistently. There will be moments I believe where they all look great but in the end I feel like Webb will just wear them down and be the best at the end. He’s not my favorite rider but the kids tough and finds ways.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Anderson take another stab at it this year.

Agreed. It has been over 30 years since a rider who failed to win a small bike championship in SX went on to win the big bike championship (and that’s because he never competed on 125s).
I predict a knock down, drag out battle between Eli and Cooper. Can’t wait!

Can't believe nobody has said Zacho yet.
Won the last SX of the year and then killed it outdoors.
Looks like he had a good off season too.
As many of you know, I'm a Yam guy and I'm rooting for them (c'mon Mookie, Dylan, AP!) but Zacho has to be considered a top dawg now, no?

I think Roczen is going to shock a lot of people this year and take it. This is the first year he is going to be healthy and going to battle every week for the podium.

Webb and Kenny going in healthy will be big threats for the title. Tomac will as well, but I’m going with AC.

Of course the last time I correctly predicted the winner was with Dungey (which was a no brainer).

1. Webb
2. Osborne
3. Barcia

I think Tomac got his overdue championship and wont push as hard, Roczen has the talent but never seems to stay healthy

Webb, Kenny, AC at the top Sexton, Tomac, Osborne making it interesting.

Webb coming away with the championship...as the season wears on Kenny’s past health problems will be flaring back up. Webb’s grit and race craft will keep him in it to the end.

My heart wants a KR94 championship though!

I have a feeling this is Roczen's last opportunity for a SX title. If it doesn't happen in '21, it will be too late. If he feels the same and rides the way he'll need to, I think he can do it.

The old guard is just about done. Tomac, Roczen, Musquin, Anderson and Barcia are all on the backside of their career peaks, and the slow decline to retirement has begun. I'm not saying they can't win, or even that they can't take a title, but the window is closing fast. In '22 I think Supercross will be the Webb, Osborne and Cianciarulo show, with a dash of Ferrandis. We might even see that in '21.

I would say the lack of confidence in a ZO16 championship would be his lack of raw speed. We’ve seen AC, Kenny, Tomac, Webb have some races where they are totally on another level. Zacko doesn’t tend to show those flashes. Though he’s very consistent. Which keeps him at the top of the list just not a favorite. Same feeling for me with Sexton. He will be there through consistency but the raw speed has yet to be shown.
