Baggett launching into the Texas 12 Pack at Freestone was mind bending. Witnessed it in person that day...HOLY SHIAT!! Talk about sketchy..and he was bustin it out almost every lap. Even though Blake's not quite at RV's level, when that dude was "on", he was untouchable.

Not only the best 250f rider in my opinion, but one of the best 450 riders, too:

RV.

Stewart raced his last race in the lites class on a 250. He won by a huge margin and said it felt like he was cheating.

Exactly. RV was awesome for sure. I was there that day he beat the world at the mxdn at budds. But these fools need to put down the crack pipe. Stew would have lined his pockets with RV’s milk money.

And by the way RC was in early retirement on a 450 that day at MX nations. He was cruising for the most part when RV beat everybody. If RC had been in his regular beast mode, I bet things would have been different.

And don’t forget RV got stuffed at the finish line for a 250 F Supercross championship by a rookie. Think rookie Canard would have stuffed RC or Stew. Pfffffft

Yeah I have to pause on RV being the 250f GOAT because outdoors, he was fantastic, but indoors he only won one title. He wasn't on Short's and Langston's pace in 2006 and in 2008 he made a TON of mistakes.

If we go back to 125s I'd say O'Mara at the '86 mxdn, in the 125/500 race he passed every 500 except for Bailey to come in 2nd. In the 250/125 race he passed every 250 except RJ to come in 2nd.

RV and Herlings were beasts with 250f's on a MX track. I think there were better 250f riders on a supercross track though. Pourcel, Dungey, Canard and Tedesco come to mind. They were all smooth as butter on a SX track!

Wasn't cruising but was sick. Said that moto is when he knew something was wrong, it's not in his nature to go to the MXoN and put in a half assed effort.

But I remember telling my boss at the time who was out of the current moto loop about Baggett. I told him he would just cruise the first 15 minutes, and if was even in the top 15 at the halfway point, he picked it up so much nobody else had a chance. He had some crazy rides in his title years. A shame it never fully transferred over to the 450.

Villopoto over Herlings only because of his SX skills.

Yes they beat him but Herlings was 15 years old at that time and his first season(rookie)

His second season he and last one off Roczen in the GPs they went head to head and Roczen won the title in the end but Herlings finished inside a moto score.

After that Herlings clicking off allot of wins in the 250 class and shoulda woulda coulda a few more title.

He also won his first GP at 15 at his home GP wich was only his 3rd GP of his Career.

And it was a double moto victory.
