Actually it isn't that the manufacturers are raising prices as much as the dollar is crashing. You think it's bad now, just wait until they print another 10 trillion dollars and the value falls another 25%.

Some people like new stuff, good on them. You arent the target customer for these bikes. Of course they wont make a average rider better. But who cares, their $$ their choices.

I just bought a 2018 with 4hrs for $4,500, but it's a gasass 300. Was sitting at dealer for 2years. It was dirty as chit and a little sun faded. All is good now.

The bike isn’t paid off half of the time. Dirt bikes are inelastic, so dealers will charge whatever they want because some goof will pay it.

Side note: I just picked up a showroom condition 17 YZ250 with less than 1 hour and TONS of extra stuff with it for 6300.

It’s discouraging how expensive the sport is becoming for the average guy. I would say most folks these days can’t even buy a newer bike without having to finance. It’s even worse for families that have buy multiple bikes if both parents and the kids ride.

It’s not isolated to bikes....everything in this world is more expensive, but it doesn’t seem proportional. New bike prices are up almost 30% compared to 10 years ago and they continue to climb every single year. Suzuki seems to be the only OEM that is even attempting to keep costs within reason.

Not sure where you're coming up with those numbers. The dollar had an average inflation rate of 1.78% per year between 2010 and today, producing a cumulative price increase of 19.34%.

RMZ450 msrp went up 11% in the last 10 years
KX450 went up 15%
CRF450 went up 16%
YZF went up 17%
SXF went up 25%

The price on the Japanese brands has increased at a lower rate than general inflation.

I have no idea why I took the time to look that up. lol

Really? Last I looked the Dollar to Euro has been between .91 to .82 for the last five years with small peaks and valleys. Also the Dollar to Yen has been between 110 to 100 for the past five years. So where's this 25% loss?
