I don't know about the rest of the country, but in SE PA masks have been required in every place of business since April. Most people even wear masks while outside in public. Yet somehow we are experiencing a spike similar to Feb/March before the restrictions. Obviously people can do what they want in private, however you would think the numbers would decrease, not increase. There's probably other variables to consider as well, but masks/social distancing doesn't seem to be helping as planned any longer. Now that the temp is dropping in the 20-30s, maybe it'll keep people inside and numbers will drop again.
I think alot of people have relaxed their social distance protocols since it first hit. Mask compliance in stores around me is good, but bars and restaurants are open with people mask free eating with their hands, drinking, talking, laughing. Now the weather is cold so the full open outdoor dining thing is pretty much over. Also its been a big problem at colleges around here. Public schools have gone in and out of in-person and online teaching.

As usual, there are some linesteppers who want to inject religion and politics. We don’t do that here.

Masks around here in MN are pretty prevalent, all stores require it and now bars and restaurants are closed again. We have had spikes in cases. I dont agree whole heartedly with wearing a mask, but I do for the sake of being able to actually go into places.
I am just getting over covid my self...today is first day out of quarantine actually, my wife has it also. I feel pretty good, just like a normal cold with some extras.

The general public seems to be doing a better job of wearing masks and social distancing then the folks implementing the shutdowns..

Not in PA. Our governor (not political GuyB, just referencing the level of govt involved) required bars/restaurants to stop selling alcohol at 5pm the night before Thanksgiving to limit the amount of people going out. That is the 3rd busiest night of the year for bars from what the local news said. Restaurants are allowed 50% capacity and some bars even installed plastic barriers every few seats like they have at grocery store checkouts. My county, Montgomery, has been very restrictive since the start and we have the highest rates after Philly I believe. We do border the city, so that may be a reason though.

I know what you are saying, but the spike is fairly recent and nothing has really changed in the last few months here. It's not like people just stopped wearing masks/social distancing or restaurants just re-opened.

EDIT: Sorry, don't know how to just quote the last post.

Yeah, they've been saying that since the 1930's.

And yet for all its shortcomings, the state continues to grow into the 5th largest economy in the world, in three years it will be ahead of Germany.

You were alive in the 1930s.

Fifth largest economy in gross, not net.

Huge difference. It’s massive debt speaks for itself. It’s like bragging you make $100k a year but spend $120k a year.

The thread is about a track being closed.
No worries.
I rode on The Rez, today!
Oh, that’s Pala for the old-timers and “Fox Raceway” for the KR & AC fans.

Speaking of Pala, I never got to ride there after the national. Is back to the old layout or is the main still relatively the same as the national layout?

Why not still donate then to the charities?
We will but I don't think it will be the same.

I'm planning on racing swapmoto there this Sunday. Think it will happen or no? Sad
Not with a lockdown going on but check with the promoter.

Glen Helen is closed only to overnight camping only. The promoter of the Fire and Police cancelled his event not Glen Helen. The promoter of the scrambles race I understand canceled her race for the same CoVid reasons. They are open to race and practice unless someone cancels their event.
Maybe Myron started another rumor.
I will double check my source. I've been wrong before. Sorry if I mislead.

still the same, but they took out the back hairpin and turned the track short at the bottom of the hill.

They also made the rollers super hard, I almost have to ride around them Tongue

Not sure where the California shutdown thread went, but I told you so...if playgrounds are shut down, dirt bike tracks will be, too. Bummer for sure.

But I have been in hospital rooms with people that had the rona with just a basic surgical mask and I didn't catch it. It is not nearly as contagious as people make it out to be. One nurse I work with just doesn't give a F*** and swabs people with a basic surgical mask and she hasn't caught it. It's hard in the ERs though. When I went down to work in a high risk area we were putting people on ventilators in their 40s and they never came off of them. There is no simple solution for this.
