Yup, definitely looks like it says Kawasaki on the front side of the jersey.
Damn, I love to hear that. Such a nice guy and had a great rookie season

His Instagram story also showed that he has a PC team helmet. We knew this was coming, but it's nice to have confirmation.

Might be a dumb question but how did he earn such a low number in his first season? He was just that consistent and scored enough points? That is great news PC picked him up

250 SX points count towards earning a national number. That wasn't always the case.

I personally think they shouldn't be counted.

Great to see some parties are stepping up to get more rides available, for riders that were misfortunate with Geico folding

So, this may be a dumb question but if a rider is showing his new team gear or is seen riding with the team or on a team bike why do teams not announce the rider? It seems like teams these days are keeping their rider announcements very close to their chests.

Did he have a good season? I barely noticed him and it didnt seem very good. I guess Jett overshadowed him

He finished 3rd overall in 250 east sx. Doesn’t seem to get any credit for that especially in his rookie season

7 top 10s and 5 top 5s in 9 races is pretty good for a rookie, I think.
Definitely overshadowed by Jett, but especially in SX Jo had a really solid reason - for a rookie anyway. No other rookie came even close in SX

I don't think its supposed to be a secret.

I think most teams want to make the formal announcement after the team photoshoot. Which means getting all the riders in the same place, having the new bikes ready, having new gear ready, ect. Just takes a little bit a of time.

Really stoked when I heard about this, I can't help but feel like he may have a serious breakout season with the team change over to PC. Even happier to see them add another great rider to compete against that damn Star team. I loved the Kawi/Yamaha rivalry in the late 90's/early 00's.

Very excited about this. And beyond deserved. Shimoda was overlooked and underrated this year, but fortunately not by Mitch. Dude got 3rd overall in SX in his rookie season, followed by some very solid motos outdoors with a podium at the final round. Super smooth and talented and look forward to watching him continue to grow.

It's clear from my posts that I'm kind of a Shimoda fanboy, so I've been following his races closely. Almost every race he's gotten a terrible start and worked his way forward. I think he got two top-5s in SX this year and both were charges past some good guys like Lopes, Owen, Peters, etc. Of course, now on PC he's going to need to step it up and fight for the podium.

Good point!

I watched him at Dallas...if I recall correctly...and was paying attention to him and Jalek...they were both in the same situation...mediocre starts and a track that DID NOT allow much "setting up" for a pass: Shimoda rode VERY smart and made progress.

I'm stoked that he found a home at Monster ProCircuit Kawasaki.

Stoked for Jo. I spend a lot of time at Pala/fox and have been seeing him and been getting passed by him for a while. I hope he continues to do well.

I saw on his trainer's IG that he is currently riding a bone stock KX 250F. He also looked a little tense riding a new bike. But he'll get used to it.

I don’t know anything about joe but based on the one geico behind the scenes video I saw he seemed extremely stressed under the Honda tent. Maybe stressed isn’t the word but he just didn’t seem like he was firing on all cylinders.

I know it was just one day and it was behind the scenes but I hope this ride works for him. Would have liked to see Mum get a chance on that team too

It makes sense that he seemed stressed in that last Honda video, the team was folding, he didn't have a ride lined up, and teams were filling up quick. I hope he adapts to the Kawi and has a great season next year. More guys in the mix, is never a bad thing.

Seems like a nice kid and hope he has a good year. I wonder if Munford will be on Phoenix Honda now listening to that interview ?
