John Dowd ok?

From his wife this morning.

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to give everybody a status update on John after losing a game of chicken with the trees on his dirt bike.
He's overwhelmed by everyone's well wishes and support.
He is battered and bruised in a lot of places. He is stable at the moment. He he has a fracture of the right pubic bone, a widened pelvis, a hematoma in his bladder, and a left tibial plateau fracture. The doctors are working on pain control and making sure they haven't missed any other injuries. While he appreciates all the well wishes and support he has requested no visitors and just wants to focus on getting some rest.

Ive had a tibial plateau fracture. long recovery from that one. Best wishes

One of the all time best guys to get on a race bike. I will never forget his race with LaRocco on that Yamaha factory bike.

But yeah, I always liked Dowd too. Hope he gets well soon.

He is the reason the last few years I race two classes at Mammoth. I remember he raced the 40 pro with me (well ...WAY out in front of me) then went straight to the gate in the 30 pro class and gave MC fits all four motos. No break between back to back 20+ min motos at 7500 foot elevation. Dude is crazy fit/fast. I saw him do those two classes and it motivated me to do it.
