I dont know if y'all watched the Pala National or not; but, Michael Lindsays's Chaparral/FXR Honda Team put Cody Schock on the NEW CRF450R and pulled off a Tenth Overall on the day (12/10 for 10 O/A).
The bike looked like it was working awfully damn well thru all the ugly stuff and if I'm not mistaken, he got some good starts, too. It certainly pulled well all around the track and was NOT slow.
So, wouldn't it be nice to know what they did to the enigne?
And...the chassis...the suspension...?
I'm jus' sayin'...

The 20 HRC models were refined bikes of the last 3 yrs. of testing on that model. Those bikes also looked good all yr. with Sexton & Craig putting in solid results at the nationals.
To answer the above mentioned questions.
Coty rode the bike 4-5 times. 2 of those times bone stock.
We ran a Yosh RS-12, a Vortex ECU mapped by Chad at XPR, race fuel, Motul 300V 10-40 oil, Enzo revalved the stock stuff, changed the spring rates a lil, set of ODI bars and grips...and a set of HAAN/Excel wheels.
Coty got his first top ten ever in outdoors and pulled about a top five or sixth start in the second Moto on it. ‘Twas a great day.

People have lost their minds. The bike looked good because it had a young, fit and talented rider, that would have probably got the same results with a different bike and similar setup modifications

You have to be excited about 21. I am sure things may not be finalized yet but can you share who the sponsors are and who and how many will be riding. It will be cool to watch the team grow and increase their presence!
It’s crazy how great these new generation 450’s are with a pipe, mapping/ECU, fuel and revalved stock suspension. Every color comes alive with those items.
Congrats to ML and rider for a great finish, and thanks for essentially product testing at the highest level.
I sorta knew this was the case; but, I hadn't heard -exactly- what had been done to the bike...hell...the last time I'd talked to anyone...they hadn't received the "ok" to race that bike...yet...
So, I asked and, as usual, Michael threw it ALL out there.
I thought it was awesome that they showed what can be done with "just the basics".
There are a lot of us Old Guys that're extremely proud of Michael and the ways he's shown many people that he's worked with that "hard work makes good things happen".
Congratulatons to Michael, Cody and all the people that support them.

I texted him and told him I'd posted this. I try not to call anyone in Machael's "very fluid situation" during these SIlly Season days.
Why?
Well, I suspect he's CRAZY busy trying ot deal with some new...but really GOOD...changes going into 2021.
If someone has supplied some cams that work tell the world. If Honda have supplied a discounted bike and it is working, tell the world. If Dunlop sponsored some tyres and they're working well, tell the world. FFS dude, this is WHY sponsorship exists!
2. Do said mods to bike mentioned in point 1 and get back to us with the result.
