Thanks for the kind words everyone.

Rode with this dude damn near every weekend for the last 15 years, last 3 virtually through his go pros and group text as I moved away. Our regular crew was always 8 to 10 strong. He was 52 and a very consistant and conservative rider but got around well. His accident and the severity of his injuries don’t make sense. No one saw it as he was in the back side of the track early in the day. Feel aweful for my friends and uncle that were there trying to save his life.

Rest In Peace Tall Dave! You will be missed by all.

Your friend,

Ryan

Can't imagine losing one of the moto crew. I'm about the same age and we all still get after it. The risks are there but we all know we wouldn't live life any other way. Sorry for your loss.

This is terrible news. Very sorry for the loss of your friend. Did this happen at a SoCal track.

Happend in Louisiana, where I lived up to 3 years ago.

Thanks Seth

Thanks Manny

and thanks everyone else as well

Going to take some time.

Our group was coined the “MTP” Moto Tass Posse and was recognizeable and respected around the area as we were a group of older guys that got around the track pretty well and had a good time in the pits once the riding was done. Often times not leaving the track until well after dark and locking up for the owners. Tall Dave was a kind soul that knew no enemy and was an integral part of the weekly group chat banter and weekend riding plans. My uncle of 66 years old and good friend Moto Tass 62, tried to save him and have been horribly traumatized. My thoughts are with them the most.

Thanks for the support guy/gals

That's a tough one Ryno, Dave was everybody's friend. He knew no enemy's, you could talk to tall dave about anything and he was always good person to have a conversation with. Always in a good mood. He always had his trusty sidekick with him too. That dog was every kids best friend in the pits. He was one of the staples for the moto tass posse. I can't imagine what the crew is going through right now. He will definitely be missed. Every single time we spoke he would always ask how my dad was doing, every time. My dad was in awe too. I hope he's spinning laps in some better place. RIP Tall Dave

Hi so sorry about your friend! I made it to Pala Friday parked over by the water tanks west end ...met up with some of my new Mx friends Suzuki crowd..just starting this Mx sport at 67 ! we were just talking about how dangerous this sport is but I think everyone out there realize the risks taken on the track!
Guess we all are thrill seekers! Makes you think ...

Oh man so sorry to hear about your friend Brocster. Your crew sounds like our ol crew, last ones to leave the track and close the gates....
We also lost our one of our friends in a Racing accident and know what you are going through.... 😢

Hang in there Bud....
Prayers to Friends and Family.

So sorry to hear it man. Your post is giving me flashbacks. Lost a good friend to a mountain bike crash about 6 weeks ago. Similar circumstances, nobody saw it, not doing anything crazy. He was the same age, also named Dave and his teenage sons had to do CPR on him for 45 minutes until the life flight showed up.

My friend Dave was the nicest guy you could ever meet. With all the crap going on in the world, we need more of the good ones like my friend Dave and your friend Dave, not less.

It's hard to make sense of it. But what has helped me through it is remembering the good times spent with my friend and findimg a small way to honor his memory. My friend Dave had a rare gift to lift anyone's spritits no matter the situation. That doesn't come naturally to me, so to honor my friend I've set a goal to try and do something to lift somebody else up any chance I can. It's helped me to claw out of a bit of depression and move forward while at least trying to make the world a brighter place.

So, hang in there man, it sucks to be where you are now, but it'll get better, and hopefully you'll find some good ways to honor your friend's memory.

RIP Dave.
