Just noticed Jarvis made it in as an alternate for the 2nd 250 moto. Does that make her the first female to race a national moto with the boys?

they mentioned on the broadcast that she is the second woman to qualify for a pro national. I have a feeling that Duncan chick from Austraila might have done it years ago at hangtown maybe? correct me if i am wrong but its still awesome

I always thought Sue Fish was the first to qualify for a National, back in the 70's. Did a google search but came up empty.

I thought she got 9th in the consultation race. How’d she make the Moto?

Alternates for second set, is this relatively new ? I remember some privateers pitching this idea so there aren’t empty gates, never thought it would go anywhere. Must of. I’m all for it, get them as many gate drops as possible.

I heard them mention she was the second woman to qualify, but couldn’t think of who would be first. Did he mean Vicky Golden? I think she qualified for a Supercross once. Not sure who he was referring to.

Good for Jordan by the way. That’s an awesome feat for her.

I think it was she had the next fastest lap time in practice.

There's no way. She was way down the qualifying list.

Pretty sure Dorene Payne qualified for the 500 Nationals back around '83. JJ did ride very well yesterday!

Then I am not sure. I thought that is what I heard the announcers say, but maybe not

Yeah i just checked. She was 14th and 17th in the two qualifuers in group B. I guess since they take 45 that would put her right in the vicinity where she needs to be. I was thinking they only take 40.

Nice job Jordan. I think i speak for everyone here when I say how proud we are!

Not sure now, but when I raced I was 2nd alternate for SX main. It was my 1st time so I didn't even know how it worked and I was in the stands spectating when I missed my chance. They call your number and you have to be at the gate ready to go, someone else got my spot.. For the 2nd moto I'd assume most alternates don't get their bike ready to fill any open spots, so she was likely prepared (after going to other nationals and knowing how the system works) and got the spot.

Yes, we implemented the policy a couple of years ago. The fact that someone left an empty gate didn't seem right, and as a result of the change a lot of guys (and now one girl) have been able to compete in a national.

Jordan was the fifth alternate and was there and ready to race when they told her three minutes before the gate dropped! She would be done better had her bike not been running badly for much of the moto.

Pushing 60 years of age I remember Sue Fish being the first woman to QUALIFY (fast forty) for a national back in the '70's. Not to take anything away from Jordan , she is a very fast racer at the top level . She did get to race a national moto due to no shows in the second moto but that is not the same as seeing your name on the qualifiers list after practice. I have a friend that got in that way at LL 2 in the second moto then went on to qualify straight out of timed practice at Redbud 1 on Friday. Having spent thirty minutes plus two racing the fastest lites racers in the country I can see her making it straight into the motos out of timed practice in the near future.

After more research, it was Dorene Payne. First woman to ever qualify for MX National 1983 Royal Lake, CO. 500 class, Damn!

Technically shouldn’t count as qualifying, because she did not qualify.

She just got to race the second moto because of the low turnout of riders and 5-6 guys not lining up for moto two.

Still cool she got to do it and she does rip not taking that away from her.

Awesome accomplishment. Don't care that she was an alternate. She didn't finish last, so that's something right there. The skill and fitness required to even approach that level of racing is just mind boggling for any human being. Really hope this gets her an extra boost of confidence to keep on breaking records.

Alternate or not, she beat 8 men to 32nd place in that 2nd moto. The fact that a woman is anywhere near a man in physical performance is remarkable. Congratulations, Jordan!

Yes, she finished 9th. 5th through 9th are eligible to be called as alternates. And all 5 of them DID get called for Moto 2.

Do I remember correctly that Weege said on a review pod that her bike wasn’t running up to par during a lot of the moto?
I was stoked to see her out there, hope she gets more opportunities. Nice work Jordan!

She never made it into a mens race or tried stateside. I’d wish they would have mentioned who was first, I honestly have no idea.
