That said, this might just be pulling people back from the brink.

But for me , the Dungey thing is a bit odd... think about it , guy makes a shit ton of money ( nothing wrong with that ), and then bails mid contract.. thats his choice and i dont begrudge him that either. When you done, you done.

But coming back, he should be setting up his own gig , like Reed, and doing it that way, not expecting someone else to pony up the $$ so he can make a load more.
A lot of brands were experiencing a big dip in sales the months prior to the Covid situation. While sales are up right now, for many brands it had to fill the big hole created prior...so it's a bit of a wash for some.

True to a point. Racing budgets come from the advertising budget of said company as a whole, not just bike sales. The team manager will put together a budget and the bean counters will give them a percentage of the advertising budget to get close to the number they need.

Outside sponsors are like the icing on the cake, they get to keep all of that money. The problem is that teams are now accustomed to that money and go way over their budget.

Private teams obviously are different and depend upon outside money or their product sales. A team like Factory Connection was making it long before Girco stepped in, but they have become dependent on that money.

Any updates or confirmations? Dylan finally a sealed deal at Star Racing 450? I know early in the MX season they were talking about Ferrandis AND McElrath moving up next year, but I haven't been hearing that the last few rounds, did he find a way to stay down? I've heard rumors that GEICO was actually staying (another thread on here, so not sure the validity). Any number projections for next year? I assume if DF14 locks it down, he'll take the #8.

How will new contracts be affected with this years extended/late schedule? Do they become official the day after Pala?

And how do the riders change their training schedule and allow enough time off to recuperate. Assuming SX starts on time. Yes - that is a big assumption.

There's no Monster Cup this year, so I don't see a problem. Can have time off after final round of MX, then come back and start testing for SX mid to late November, and be ready to go for January.

When Osborne came back in 2012(?) with his MX2 team I thought his bike looked really good in SX. I thought the same thing about Ohlins being a fish out of water, so I was really watching his setup and it was as good as any team.

At Thunder Valley where horsepower is pretty important, there were 4 vacuum cleaners in the top 7 in the final results. No KTM. No Husky. No Kawasaki. No Suzuki. I get it they're all chasing Yamaha, but the rest are on par, if not behind, the vacuum cleaner.

Suzuki managed to clear the leap. JGRs motors look very strong, easily second in the class

Nobody has ever said that JGR builds slow bikes. I don't think it's ever been about the bike really...
