Dylan Ferrandis next year on a 450

Cool for DV12 to chime in. As for the original topic you guys need to pump the brakes. Every year whoever dominates the 250 class will “instantly win and possibly dominate the 450s”. It’s very possible that may happen but most of history has shown it’ll take a few years at least until that happens (or doesn’t). Many of the greatest riders still take their bumps in the big boy class. If he struggles the first year or two hopefully you won’t be on here calling the kid a bust after saying he’s going to dominate. For now he’s in a league of his own on 250s and if he starts top 5 it’s boring to watch. Hard work + natural ability very hard to beat.

To me Dylan is a combination of the riding style of a hungry Pourcel and the winner mindset and work ethics of Webb. If he can carry that over to his 450 career competition should be seriously worried.

DV, you’ve got my respect. Yes your style was different and immediately noticeable on the bike, But it worked for you. I applaud you for staying in the sport and trying to help further others careers. I wish more top riders would do that, but to each his own I guess. Your efforts are making a difference and I look forward to seeing if anyone else asks for you assistance to help themselves along. Good luck fella.

Though I’d be lying if the bikes history has me a little concerned...
I’m DF fan also. He Just destroyed the field this weekend at Ironman.

Ferrandis battled with Herlings for a few in years the GP's which probably groomed him the rider he is now.

Jeremy has nowhere near the speed of dylan as was showed in the first moto. Hadnt dylan been taken out in the first turn he would have won easily.

But sure, you need to stay of the ground to win a champuonship. But speedwise. No one is even close to dylan right now.

Did anyone see when Dylan crashed in the first turn of the 2nd moto....a yamaha team guy ran out and lifted his bike up for him.....I didnt know that was allowed ala outside help.

The kid is very serious and dedicated about improving physically & technically every week. Follows both, my training regiment and riding program to the T which impresses me a lot. I don't budge. I don't care if I'm a a**hole, I just want to work to be done as planned and as I want it to be. I wish people would see him behind the scenes, he's everything Americans love, hard worker, always gives everything he has, hates to lose, never settles. He's nothing like us regular frenchies as americans see us, skilled technically but soft and not "killers". I'm trying to get him to ride his 250 with a 450 philosophy to prep him for next year. The 450 class is another ball game. It will be very challenging to get used to the power, weight, inertia, stiffer competition, more physical class and more races. Not sure where he's gonna be but what I'm sure about, he'll work as hard as he can and try his best everytime. Might be enough to be a contender, might not be enough. The future will tell...
You can watch him ride and see that he is everything you’re claiming. I’ve liked him for a long time because His style is sooo nice mixed with aggression and a never say die attitude.

Awesome response DV12. I saw Dylan at State Fair on Thursday. I'm always amazed at what a guy like DF can do on a bike. My buddy watches DV rail a rut that looked 2 feet deep and said he felt like he should take up bowling. Next year will be really good.

Yamaha would be stupid to let this guy walk. Yamaha is going to send a contract so big to him, no way Dylan doesn’t sign.

Dylan is on another level compared to all the other 250 guys.

First off, SEMAC is a moran. Smile . Second, hard to dispute DF drive. I was pissed at first when they only covered him in the second moto for the first 15 mins but he put on a riding school firsur. Third. He will fit the 450 like Chase Sexton does. Gunna be fun to watch. And thanks DV for chiming in. Great inside prespective.

Yeah bro that's what people were saying about AC in SX this year. A few years ago Plessinger did the same thing Ferrandis is doing now. And he didnt win anything in 450. Webb before that and it took him years to win anything much less the whole thing.

Cant understand how people get so overbaked on these guys. Every year we hear this stuff. Dude moving up to 450 is hard. The 450 class is the premier class for a reason. It is next level.

Nobody in the 250 class in recent times came from last to 3rd like df did this weekend.

He blew by everyone like they didn’t even belong on the same track.

Ap won his outdoor title while everyone else crashed out. Facts are facts yes he won but the main guys were out.

AC has no 250SX title and came as close as you can get to winning a main event. And now he sits 5th in points despite DNFing 1/6 motos.

I don't think anyone expects Ferrandis to dominate the 450s and be a title contender. If he can do what AC did minus the injuries he'll probably be happy for his first year.

Team can only help in the first turn, AMA/track people can help anywhere.
