How’s everybody feel about the 350’s off-road? I ride tight, nasty, rocky stuff. I think the 300’s are the best motor ever produced. I’m just getting the itch to get my first four stroke. In the little bit of time I’ve put on them, I’ve never got along with a 250F. I’ve had some decent experiences with the 525’s, but I’ve never committed to one. They just feel like big ol monsters. Fun, but not practical. I’m wondering if I’d be happier with a 450 or a 350. I’m finding my older age has got me lugging a bike a lot more than I used to. I kinda like it. Am I gonna have to wring the neck out of a 350? Or is a 450 gonna be too much of a handful in the rocky tight stuff?
300 lugs better and runs cooler in the right technical stuff.

350 vs 450 in a drag race.. ever done it?
I did. 2 bikes of the same year. The 350 had a Yosh pipe.
Was almost a dead heat any way we did it. Rolling start to rule out take off technique etc.
had the 450 pulling it just slightly every time.
Nothing to write home about.
Just FYI
Obviously didn’t use lab coats and glasses 🤓

I have a 300 and 350. The 350 is better for nearly everything except tight slow single track. A 300 will climb a tree at idle and not stall.

I just ordered the '18 airboot and it is on back order. Not available till early September.
Might be a popular part? I'll get the ECU flashed at Twisted when I get the other mods done.

Went from a suz rmz450. 2006 (first year with carb) to a 2014 sxf350. Great bike, power on top was great and was able to hang on fully for 20 mins. Only minor was missing the kick of having a beast under me. In 2019 i bought a fc450 rockstar which is totally different. Very rideable too, but more torque and more engine braking. Have changed the aer fork with a kyb insert, now its nearly perfect. Only need to try the more aggressive throttle cam for use between map 1(top) and map 2(more low power) and a slightly smaller handlebar.

Well i only rode it for about 10 minutes, the bike had CV forks and Trax shock that wasn't setup for a rider close to my weight and speed.

With that said. The bike didn't feel heavier at all compared to my 250. The initial throttle response on my 250 was better (headwork, full Akra pipe, Twin Air Powerflow kit and a very good engine sample compared to other YZ250F that has been on the same dyno i have used) so you really have to rev the 350 more than my 250. But once you do, the stock 350 rips. Much more fun and easier to ride than a 450 yet there is enough power to compete against 450.

It is also a taller feeling bike and way narrower compared to the Yamaha.

This was also pretty much my experience, coming from a YZ250F to my 350.

Cant decide between FC350 and 350SX-F!

I prefer the orange but some reviews seem to say the FC turns better?

I’m so torn between getting a 21 kx250, YZ250F or fc350. I had a 17 350sxf and just remember hating it. Being at 200lbs even, I think any 250 might not be enough. I just remember not liking how on and off the hydro clutch is on the ktm 350. I also hated at the midrange of the motor the bike just suddenly takes off like a rocket unexpectedly. Also getting really bad head shake, and the forks just sucking. The fc350 is almost 2k more. I’m attracted to the husky because of the softer more vet friendly suspension. Any options out there? Maybe I was just wrong.

Man i can stop you right there, with your precedent opinions of your ex 350 SXF 17 don’t go for the 350 FC 21 ! I explain, i went myself from a 250 SXF 2017 to a 350 FC 2019 (The 2021 will be the same i assure you) and at the end of the day i regret my 250 sxf. The motor and the handling of the 250 is that much more fun and ridable at my B level. And the new chassis since 2019 is more rigid so unless you are really fast or ride in soft/sand conditions it is not the ideal on hard pack with small chops etc. You can also look at my build i put some Factory KYB suspensions, links, etc and still i was having more fun on the 250 bone stock (exept revalve OEM fork and shock). The thing you say on the motor will be the same feeling on the new 350 FC believe me. So in conclusion, go the 250 route ! Except the suzuki the 21 250 will be all excellent bikes (i truly believe YZF and KXF will dominate the shootout for 2021). For myself I plan to sell the 350 and buy the new 250 KXF 2021 this winter.

Taking my 2021 out to my local MX track tomorrow... I”m excited to try her out... I installed my Cone valve forks, stiffer stock shock spring from my 19.5 FE450, black throttle cam, 2t filter cage and tusk chain adjusters blocks. While I had the shock off, I greased the linkage better. Wanted to get an FMF slip on but looks like FmF is an apparel company now, so I tried my Akrapovic off my 450 and it fits right on..👍..... maybe I”ll take a 90”s 2stroke also, seeing how it’s going to be a rev ranger kind of day....

2021 is not exactly the same as the 2019. In 2020 Husky softened the all the FC's suspension to be more "vet friendly" as Tex said. I have a 2020 FC350 and it is not rigid or harsh at all. Pretty plush actually. Also, the power is not abrupt in the midrange. Map-1 is super smooth and linear. Very easy to ride. I picked the Husky over the KTM because I like white better and the more plush suspension.

Tex, I don't know what your skill level is, but the newer YZ250F has plenty of grunt to pull 200 lbs around. It is a damn impressive 250F engine. It falls a little flat on the extreme over-rev if you are a guy that likes to find the upper reaches on long straights.

Best bike I’ve owned. Had her all ready for Budds Creek Sunday but the sky opened up. Had some Bud’s instead.

No parts, just put 450 up for sale... I run the stock brakes on my KTM”s...have to ride little more aggressive than a 450, giving up some low end torque..I think my corner speed is already improved over the 450... it might make bigger jumps a little more challenging...but that could just be an adjustment period.... I like the 450”s but wanted to try something different...

I have the weirdest brake issue going on with the rear brake on my 450. Took caliper apart cleaned it wasn’t dirty to begin with got a master cylinder rebuild adjusted it all the way out and the brake keeps locking on after two corners up there just bought a line hopefully that’ll fix it.

Too much fluid? Leave some room in the reservoir... too tight adjustment on the pedal? I have never had any rear brake issues on my ktm”s... and I”m a rear brake dragger...

Yeah you need to leave more play in your rear brake. Nothing to do with the line.

I always start the season off wanting a 250f. Once i get i to riding condition later in the season....i like the 450 way more. 350 would be great year round but i’m digging the 450 power right now. Anyone else the same with this?

I have always had 250 2t and have had a few 250f’s and a 2017 350. I rode a friends 2020 450sxf and 350sxf two motos back to back and there is no way I’d personally buy a 450. Yes the torque was massive but it just wasn’t enjoyable to me. There was so much inertia that it felt like I was just spending a lot of energy riding and controlling the bike. With the 350 I can be way more aggressive and just ride non stop for a 30 minute moto and not be tired out. I was dead set on getting a 2020 350 before we moved in June but they were sold out in our region so I went with a 250xc tpi. The tpi works pretty fun for moto and can’t wait to start out harescramle season.

In short I think you should definitely try a 350 out, in my opinion it is the most fun and best handling bike I’ve ever ridden. Couldn’t give me a 450 it’s just too much. I’m only a 30+ B rider at best but That 350 handles without even thinking and is so fast without being overpowering.

Can someone please verify engine oil capacity with & without oil filter... I have a 2021 and the manual was not printed at time of purchase... Figured it was a same as my 450 at 1.2 ml”s but that’s too much, thinking it’s around 1000 ... thanks

I have the 20 and the manual does not give specifics for oil capacity on when you are just changing oil without filter. It just states to add 1 Liter and then fill up the oil filter housing 1/3 of the way with oil and also to fill the oil filter with oil. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply... I did some more searching, looks like 1.1 liters... I”ll try that & see what it looks like in the site glass... I change my oil filter every other oil change...thanks again.

My 2020 FC350 takes 1,000 cc with a filter change and that puts it on the high end of the range. And I take time and do lots of leaning the bike to get the max out when draining.
