KX250 2021 vs. YZ250F 2021

Which one would you buy and why? (The KX would be ~20% cheaper since it is assembled in my country- tax incentives)

YZ is the best 250f you can buy

- best motor
- reliable
- best suspension
- decent handling
- decent brakes

Both look like killer bikes, I’m deciding myself between those 2 or stick with ktm. Decisions decisions Pinch Pinch personally think I would gel better with the kx but Yamaha seems to have better build quality.

Yz is always a solid, cant lose choice for 250s. But that new KX is probably going to be great. Those would be my top 2 choices. It will be interesting to see the reviews.

For 20% less the KX makes more sense as they are both going to be fantastic bikes.

I'll bet that 2021 KX250f is gonna be a REAL GOOD bike and if you can get 20% off it's a no brainer to me

Kaw hands down! Slimmer, hydro clutch, KYB suspension, frames don’t crack. Etc... that bike is going to be amazing just like the 450. I have a feeling we’ll have a 5,000 page thread about the 2021 kx250 😂

Based on what we know right now, the KX250 without a doubt.

KX is cheaper, thinner, great support, new generation, hydro clutch, and should like to really rev.

I bet it wins a shootout this year.

Unless you have to spend another grand to get the suspension working!
All the latest generation Yamaha’s I’ve ridden the suspension doesn’t NEED any work! But a lot of people do it anyway

Kawi all day long ... just go sit on that yamaha and you will know why i say that. There is nothing wrong with the quality of Kawasakis only the quality of those maintaining their motorcycles.

Your last sentence is 100% truth!! None of my Kawi’s have ever had issues! The only ones I’ve ever seen have issues are the ones that were never maintained properly.

Both are awesome and way more capable than most any rider who still had to buy their own bike. My preference would be the kx if they are the same price, given the discount it's a no brainier imo.

I'd go KX . I was a yamaha guy for 20 years , now have 19 kx450 with no issues and love the bike . My son has a 16 kx250 and it's been rock solid

The Kawi may be cheaper, just wait to find out what each manufacturer did to the engine. I’m a Yamaha guy. So I would go that direction.

I own a 2019 YZ250F and have ridden a few other newer brands and have been a red rider for years. The new KX will have to be alot better to compete. Not just refering to peak horsepower, or any other single attribute. I think most people either have not ridden the newer YZ250F or forget how well it is as an overall package. I know the '21 may be different, but if it's as good or better than the '19-'20, I'm not sure that there is a better bike yet for the non pro. Also, I've worked on many bikes before and they may all be good quality for the first few years, but IMO nothing quite lasts like the Hondas and Yamahas.

Didn’t the kawi motor have some issues in 2020? I heard they had some issues with the motor.......will the new bike be solid?

They did have some valve spring issue on the early ones, fixed under warranty from what I've seen.

The PC race team was evening running the 19 motor instead of the 20 this past year. But I think it was due to supply issues not something wrong with the motor. First year of an all new bike makes me a little nervous if I was buying but they did pretty solid with the 450.

The 2020 is a solid bike, mine has 15 hours and no trouble at all. It looks like the 21 keeps the top end from the 20 so I’m really excited for it. With some adjustment I love the 2020, I put a vortex, No Toil super flo kit, torq drive and a pc pipe, I added 1 tooth to the rear, lowered the footpegs and fitted ODI RC4 bend bars and it’s a fantastic bike. Now electric start has been added I think this bike will be amazing

Look at results from your local 250 C and B classes. These are guys that buy and maintain all there own equipment.

YZ250F typically takes up 50% of the field for a reason. Best overall package.

I am intrigued by the new 2021 KX250 though.

I can't answer those questions, only that I know of two people that had early KX250's with valve spring problems and were fixed at no charge by Kawasaki.

I heard it was an intermittent problem. Many riders didn’t have the issue.

This bike is go8ng to be a good one
