Jason Anderson has been quite vocal about wanting to finish out his career with Bobby Hewitt and his team, and it sounded like he would probably have a ride there for as long as he wanted. I wonder if this will change things for Anderson as far as that deal goes?

Pepsi bought them for the rights to have a certain ingredient in energy drinks they were contractually barred from using. Pepsi was already producing, warehousing and distributing Rockstar. Buying them out brings costs down and allows Pepsi to compete with Coca Cola. Rockstar isnt changing a thing, Pepsi isnt looking to change how Rockstar operates, they only wanted rights to use ingredients they were barred from using before

I've seen several posts alluding to Pepsi pulling Rockstar out of motorsports and SX. Not happening. As mentioned, PepsiCo was not allowed to have a competing energy drink. They attempted it with their Mt Dew Amp drink with some ingredient changes but it failed to pick up steam.

Pepsi is not afraid to throw money at Action Sports, both Mt Dew and Amp have a history in sponsoring skaters and surfers. I highly doubt PepsiCo would pull away from the very strategy (motorsports marketing) that made Rockstar successful in the first place.

In Austria they are pretty worried that, because of the fact that Bobby Hewitt was the connection between Husqvarna and Rockstar Energy. Rockstar Energy will take their bags and leave just like Hewitt. We will see what will happen and maybe we get a new team on the horizon or he gets involved with a different team.

PS: Any chance that he goes back to amateur motocross?

In Austria they are pretty worried that, because of the fact that Bobby Hewitt was the connection between Husqvarna and Rockstar Energy. I’m guessing it would have to be a VERY enticing deal for Bobby to be willing to go racing...again.

Also, it would probably need to be a “private team” like it was when he was Kawasaki/Suzuki/KTM...& the very early Husky days.
An amazing title sponsor would be required just to get him to the table...
OEM support at a level that he’d deem necessary to WIN.
And a group of people that makes him smile that Texas smile he gets when he’s having fun racing.
Bobby’s loyalty to his people...his team...is beyond compare. People would climb over each other to work and ride for him.

On the other-hand: “Scuba”, the assumed new manager at Rockstar...assumed by me, that is...
Is a Bobby Prodigy that’s just as committed to his people...his team...as Bobby. He’s younger & he’s an employee of the corporation; so, I’m sure he’ll have days where he has marching orders that may be difficult...to say the very least...but, hey, that new guy...Scuba...the FNG? He’s his own man and a guy couldn’t ask for a better and more “straight to the point/let’s go race to win!” kind of dude. He’s not really ‘new’ either. It’s just fun to be able to call him the FNG. He’s been there for quite a while. He’s been Bobby’s go to guy for yyyyyears.

So, “if” Bobby’s gone? Well, that sucks!
But, that team will live on.
Scuba ain’t scared.
Bobby’s riders are Scuba’s riders.
Bobby’s crew is Scuba’s crew.
I can’t help feeling that this is a plan that Bobby has had in place for a while.
Scuba Steve was groomed for this.

But now it has backing from Pepsico it changes that perspective too. So even if Rockstar is willing to keep sponsoring the team, how will Red Bull react on the new dynamic that is created due to the Pepsico sale.
