Always nice to talk with someone in the know! Also Red Bull wasn't worried about Rockstar being promoted by the KTM Group because it was too small to fight with Red Bull. But now it has backing from Pepsico it changes that perspective too. So even if Rockstar is willing to keep sponsoring the team, how will Red Bull react on the new dynamic that is created due to the Pepsico sale.

Could happen pretty quickly if PepsiCo decides to leverage their size to get more shelf space for Rockstar.

Shelf space is key for just about any retail product and a lot of that space is actually paid for by the manufacturer or distributor. If Rockstar is now part of Pepsi, they will have a lot more clout getting inventory in prime real estate for eyeballs to see it first.

Any large retail chain charges a slotting fee. Bigger company you are with deep pockets and you are going to get prime slots.

We will see how much funding PepsiCo puts behind Rockstar, also the fact that they are now part of a much bigger group could shift the tables.

Pepsi's been busy now that they're out from under the exclusivity / non-compete contract with Rockstar after acquiring them. Pepsi's now going to distribute Bang (mfg. by Vital Pharmaceuticals Wink ) which had been distributed by Anheuser-Busch. Increased pressure on Coke to buy Monster another energy drink arms race appears to be in motion:
"Coke has a non-compete clause with Monster and entered arbitration with the company last year to settle a dispute over the Coke Energy launch; still, a potential acquisition could allow the company the necessary flexibility to compete head-on with Pepsi"

Wasn’t Pepsi already paying for slots for Rockstar? Since they have been distributing it and the more of the product on the shelf the more money they make...

I think the point people are making is that it's -solely- in Pepsi's much more powerful hands, now.

You are correct. Just like the Star Yamaha team that isn't owned by Yamaha and the Rocky Mountain KTM team isn't owned by KTM.

Indeed Team Green, and I'm now reading the posted article by TED722. PepsiCo has with Rockstar & Bang almost 20% of the Energy Drink market in hands. That is something that will make the relationship with Austria (KTM/Redbull) very hard.

PS: With PepsiCo as distributor for BANG Energy, a world wide distribution network is just waiting around the corner. Waiting there till they think it's time to concer the world.

The Husky Team has been owned by Husky for a few years already; hence, my post was a joke. Laughing

It's my understanding that the 450 guys were owned/contracted through Husky direct, but Bobby had control over the 250 team.
On a side note it is really cool to see how loyal and successful his core guys have been. Deano is an original guy from Bobby's first year with Team Green Xtreme and Jason was I believe his first Rockstar Suzuki guy. Both rode for Bobby as amateurs. I'm hoping Bobby either found something new in the industry or is just ready to call it on good terms.
