And let’s not forget his 1 nearly perfect season on top of that. I believe he went 23 for 24 one season if not mistaken. RC was a bad Mofo who hated to lose.

Only thing you can say about RC is McGraths dominance in supercross.

RC is not the greatest supercross rider of all time. Change my mind.

Eli is great but also not even in the conversation.

Incorrect when you say both.

He raced 7 races in 2007, he was down 6 pts after the 2nd round, skipped A2 (round 3), then came back for San Francisco and won. Then he took off the next 3 rounds, etc. I'm not going to go through the whole season, but he won 2 of the 7 races against Stewart indoors.

He did win all 7 overalls outdoors though.

He won all but 2 motos. He won every overall in 2005. Lost the 1st moto at Southwick when Reed won after RC went down and lost at Unadilla first moto when Stewart landed on him.Stewart won 23 out of 24 in 2004 on a 125. He DNF'd a moto at Red Bud due to a mechanical I believe.

SMDH! Math is hard, huh? Don't worry, thanks to COVID-19 and literally having nothing else to do I figured the math out for you bud.

Case study: Tomac could pass RC

Ricky Carmichael

260 - total professional races
162 - total professional wins
62.3% - professional win percentage
216 - total professional podiums
83% - total professional podiums percentage

21 - total professional championship series competed
16- total professional championships
76.1% - professional championship win percentage

Eli Tomac

232 - total professional races
73 - total professional wins
31.4% - professional win percentage
144 - total professional podiums
62% - total professional podiums percentage

19- total professional championship series competed
5 - total professional championships
26.3% - professional championship win percentage

Conclusion: No. Tomac could not pass RC in literally anything relating to SX/MX.

I like when some 5th season Pro is the next RC, because he got one win, or one title. You know who the next RC is? The guy that wins and wins and wins, from day one. Not a 5th year, or 7th year, or 10th year Pro. RC won for 10 years straight. Math don't lie. RC is in the same league as Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods. You can argue MC is in the same league as far as SX goes.

So correct me if Im wrong but RC only lost the following championships that he competed in:

1997 125/250 SX
1999 250/450 SX
2000 250/450 SX
2007 250/450 SX
2007 250/450 MX

Technically you could include 1996 125 MX, but he only raced one round I believe (Steel City). So he lost his first SX series, last 2 series (due to shortened seasons on farewell tour). Other than that just those 2 hard years when he first went to 250/450 SX. Pretty unreal.

Tomac has won 12 championships already? Huh Dry SX and MX title would equal 14, down 1 to Ricky's 15? I'm pretty sure Eli has only won 4 Tongue

List of professional championships that RC did not win that he intended on racing the full series:

1997 AMA Supercross 125cc East Region
1999 AMA Supercross 250cc
2000 AMA Supercross 250cc

**2004 AMA Supercross 250cc - injury (did not intend on racing the full series)
**2007 AMA Supercross 450cc - part-time/farewell tour (did not intend on racing the full series)
**2007 AMA Motocross 450cc - part-time/farewell tour (did not intend on racing the full series)

I believe the most "unreal" stat about RC's career is that out of all the professional races he raced, his career win percentage is just over 62%. The dude won just over 62% of the time! That is beyond unreal! Winning over 62% of professional races should be impossible. RC ain't human; no way!

He also lost the 2006 World SX Championship to Stewart.
He competed in every round in the series and JS beat him but He won the AMA title. This was before it was one championship. It had 2 overseas rounds plus the AMArounds and I don’t think Daytona was included.
Reed won it in 2003 but RC didn’t race the overseas rounds.
RC won in 2005 but Reed and Stewart didn’t race.
In 2006 everyone was there.

No rider cared about that series lol those two Canadian rounds were preseason rounds for them to work on bike setup for the new 450s they were all riding.

The most unreal stat to me is that he went from Washougal 03-Southwick 05 without losing a single moto. Then extended that to Hangtown 06 for the overall streak. Just insane.

Think about the amazing seasons we have recently seen. The most dominant in recent memory was definitely Roczen in 16. That would be the fifth best MX season of RC’s career. 02, 03, 04, and 05 were all statistically better. And Roczen was insanely dominant that year. We all still talk about it how amazing he was to just open up an early gap and cruise for the final 20 minutes. That was just RC every week for 10 years straight.

There is no comparison really. Villopoto was the closest we have seen since him but injuries derailed a lot of potential championships. Which is a whole nother aspect of RC. It was incredible he stayed so injury free and be that dominant.

It could be argued that Eli has faced stiffer competition. However even if everyone agrees that tomac has faced tougher riders, I still can't get behind Eli being near RC at the end of the day. This coming from an Eli fan even. I'd put the Ryan's both ahead of Eli at this point.

There can only be one Goat....

Most AMA Wins of All-Time: 150, Ricky Carmichael

This record combines motocross and supercross wins. Ricky Carmichael’s historic 150 may never fall, considering no other rider is even in the triple digits. If a rider were to ever reach the 100 mark (which is absolutely absurd), they would still only be two-thirds of the way to Carmichael’s record

There can only be 1 goat.....at a time!

Tomac and Stewart together couldn’t hold Carmichael’s jock strap.

Eli has not faced anyone on the same level as James Stewart and Eli has never been on the level of James.
