Incident years ago in AMA Supercross where rider tried to board opponents bike.

Do any of you guys remember an incident years ago, where two guys collided during an ama supercross race and one guy, possibly due to concussion or confusion hopped on the wrong bike and was attempting to start it before the bikes owner grabbed him? I found it comical at the time my brother and I both remember it but cant remember specific details..... cheers Dave.

I think you mean Daytona with James and Josh Hill

It happened to me at Aztec Raceway in CO. 1981. Everyone was on a Yamaha. Another guy and I went off a jump side by side and collided in the air (c class). I got up and took off on his bike. Half a lap later they pulled me over and he got on his bike. I learned then that my bike was tweaked. Bars were bent and sub frame too. Subframe was part of the frame on those bikes. Bummer.

Similar but its not the incident im thinking of. I remember the guy sitting on the bike kicking it over, I also think they were different brand bikes.

One of the Supercross rounds in 2007. The one RC won because James and Chad crashed into each other. Perhaps St. Louis??? I remember a wreck in the second turned. Seemed like Ferry or Ivan Tedesco...

Somebody finished their race at the Millville regional last year on the wrong bike after a crash, if I’m not mistaken.

Wasn't it Shane Trittler who tried to get a ride in Vegas?

Damon Huffman was getting ready to lap Shane Trittler on a huge downhwill double that went up and over the locker room building at the end of the stadium, then came back up and over into the stadium.

As they came back into the stadium, Trittler was about 1 bike length ahead of Damon Huffman, he cased the double really hard, did a full front somersault, and landed on the back of the Damon Huffmans RM125 as he passed by. Huffman had to pull over, come to a complete stop at the bottom of the hill, and let Shane off! It was incredible!

Sounds familiar. Think it happened in a 250 race last 2-3 years.

Yes, St. Louis main event 23minute mark. Ferry almost got on Tedesco's bike and took off. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpf1UiZpkiY
Geez now I'm not sure if my memory is mistaken this seems like it but different to how I remember it lol.
Fun race to watch. I think the issue might have begun with the 30-second card girl. Wow, times have changed. That look she gave the pack before flipping the card it is like something you would see in the alley behind the local tire shop at closing time.

That was the Huffman/ Trittler incident mentioned earlier. Amazingly, it appears no video has ever surfaced of this!

What is the rule on this? Let’s say theoretically Hill doesn’t get to Stewart in time and he takes off. Hill probably says WTF and just grabs Stewart’s bike because why not but then are they both DQ’ed?

To this day I still cannot believe not a single person got it on tape!

For the record I copied and pasted that info from a former vital forum post by another user. All these incidents sre interesting but none are the one im thinking of/ or I am badly exaggerating the memory.... I could have been sure the guy got on the bike, the ferry tedesco incident is the only one that rings a bell to me.

RC, Stewart, and Reed were so dang good. Their speed and intensity was on another level. 13 years later that pace would still be competitive.
