Not saying they have much of a choice or inferring anything negative towards this track...... just asking if any others have had to curtail attendance as well.

Theres no open outdoor riding in our region yet (still snow on the ground) but this seems unnecessary. For heavens sakes this is open air outdoor activity which should be the SAFEST place to be right now! All the precautions with distancing from others (in pits etc) can be practiced by individuals at the track just like anywhere else. Common sense seems to be in short supply right now...

Why limit it when it’s outdoors when it’s not a confined area and people will hang out with each other at the track or anywhere else.

because there is a world wide pandemic and the track is simply following State guidelines?

Id say thats prob the main reason.

Unless there is some super secret conspiracy that just doesnt want to make any money. You could be on to somethin...

All open out here in AZ (except where they got too much rain this week). One track has races tmrw. Its open air where people can generally maintain a safe distance. Not sure why they should close down. I want to go riding. People are still at the mall, stores, movies, etc out here.

On the bright side, only 40 riders at a track sounds kinda awesome though

Looks like it’s time for lots of “off roading” in the Dez & the Forest

Mill Creek had a pretty good turnout today for a race, I think over 400 entries.

Byron was going to have practice but cold and snow caused it to be called off. Next weekend hopefully.

In America the virus is mostly occurring in older people.... but this is because they are only testing people with symptoms. In South Korea they are testing almost everybody and by far the highest age group with the infection is aged 20-29, they just don’t show symptoms and become a host that passes it on.

Motocross would be huge for this age group, especially since a lot of work is shut down. So In a way it is a highly vulnerable group to spreading The virus to those lost in danger.

Obviously bikes though with the outdoors, gear and helmets it’s probably pretty ok. Although team sports should stop altogether in any capacity.

I totally agree.

What is the difference between going to the track or the mall ?

It's not like Im exposing myself to a crowd of people at the track anyway -- The only close contact I''ll get is when I slam that old fat vet rider on a KTM Factory Edition in a cornerLaughing

All the tracks in So Cal are not *YET* being affected due the Virus, but the constant rain here is sure fucking things up...

If they haven't yet they will be required to IMO.I think COVID 19 is going to shut everything down including tracks, malls, stores,etc,ect.. Only think open in heavily effected ares is groceries and drug stores.

Would think dirt bike riding itself has a low risk, it's the other exposure related to it....how many people sign up at same counter or grab same restroom door pull or lean on same concession stand and get the virus. Even if you are young and it has little effect on you without controls you will inevitably pass on to others and more susceptible population. I personally know many people that fall into the compromised health or older age groups that this stuff kills.

Not trying to be pessimistic, but regretfully I think we are in for considerable limitations on what we can do in near future.

Local tracks around jax rarely have more than 40 riders anyways.
Went to the beach yesterday and there were thousands of people, they gonna close the beach?

Hope the Gorman track doesn’t close , but being a state park , I’m sure it will. For a vet like me it is a descent track. And for $10 a day to camp and ride it’s not a bad deal. I was planning a two week social isolation up there , but that may not happen. If it does close , as Gavin will most likely demand ☹️ I will have to start a new thread to recruit retired ( like myself ) and temporary jobless riders out to the desert. Any takers ? I go at a descent pace for a 57 year young guy 😀

I saw a local in Kansas was limited to 250 including all workers. No restrictions on the ones close to us in Oklahoma here yet.

Hell, Woodland MX in WA state is opening all week, kids $20, so that Moms/Dads have some way to keep the kids busy since schools are closed.

FU Covid-19.

Glen Helen and LACR had practice today. I’m trying to ride this week for sure so I hope some more tracks open up
