I’m curious if they will mention this on the broadcast or if it will be swept under the rug... it’s a pretty big story and I don’t recall them mentioning it last weekend.

I think they should definitely wait to have some sort of confirmation. Give it a week or two I think, let Brian come to and obviously not be on tv but be aware that it will be going on TV, the family being aware etc etc. Give it a week or two in my opinion, not to sweep it under the rug but to not speculate

100% man.. Well said
Early in the hospital I was so convinced I could will my recovery with crazy goals and what I thought was 'positive thinking', like in 1 month I'll have this back and in 2 months I'll have this back and every time I would 'fail' I would get down..
Then my physio just said to me "look this may be all you get back focus on living like this and anything else is a bonus"
I wanted to kill him but he was exactly right..
I get by on thinking positively (it's different to positive thinking shut up is so haha), I take whatever the day brings and try to find the positive
Thanks for the perspective. I never thought of it that way but i like it!

I haven’t seen anything yet on a way to donate. I’m guessing Road 2 Recovery would be an option. I’m also guessing you could specify that it goes his way.

Praying for some good news on this young man. The doctors don't need much..just wiggle a toe, and they can build from there....

I generally chip in to R2R every time I order from
BTO. It would be nice if TLD setup some thing direct for the family staying here. I know I went through GoFundMe for Dave Miller but I don’t see why there needs to be such a large percentage taken in fees. Thinking of Brian a lot.

"Life is unfare sometimes. This kid does not deserve that. And he does not deserve all the hate he had in the commentary sections I saw just after the crash. Every person that open her mouth without knowing the importance of the injury. He was full commited for this season the last few months and I can tell you he got his head on the shoulders, knowing what he does... I just want to say : "my friend, life has been tough with you but I forbid you to give up. You have people with immense heart surrounding you right now that give you all the help they can. I wish you the best. Finger crossed. I think a lot about you.""

Fellow frenchman Cedric Soubeyras about Brian Moreau.

I keep reading about the hate and BS stuff that was spewed by so-called fans after the crash, but I never saw any of it. I'm definitely not disputing it happened, I just never saw it. Where is that? I assume social media jackasses at their finest.

Of the 100's of comments on MotoXAddicts' Facebook page in our posts, I've only had one jackass I had to ban for saying something insensitive, but for the most part, everything I've seen luckily has been super supportive as it should be at a time like this.

By far my favorite part of the moto community is how they tend to band together for a fallen brother and it's one time where they usually don't care what part of the world you're from.

I personally just cannot get what this kid went through, out of my mind. And it's a horror show. The kid works his whole life to realize his dreams. Gets signed by factory KTM (every European kids dream factory signing) to race Monster Energy Supercross. Just 2 laps into his first practice and he finds himself on the ground looking up at an empty stadium while getting dragged off the track with no feeling in his legs. I cannot imagine what Brian experienced that day and hope I and others can band together to let him know we understand what he went through and we have his back.
I think this comment from Soub was directed to French fans who can be pretty brutal with their own riders. It’s crazy as they can be 100% behind their guys at an event like MXDN but at the same time slag off their own riders during the year.

It’s a bit of a cultural thing imo to laughs at people failings rather than celebrate their success. Musquin for example is often picked on for not having the fight to put it to the Americans and winning a title instead of focusing on him being a top 5 Sx rider in the world.

For Brian he was a young prodigy who didn’t quite delivered To expectation in the GP and got riled on for that. And to crash on his SX début just got the trolls going. Fortunately most of them have a shred of human decency and stopped when they heard the severity of the crash.

Any news? Just watched the new moto spy and he has a short segment. I gotta say, it was hard to watch given the current situation. Such a young super talent with a bright future ahead of him... really wishing him the best and hoping he’s seeing signs of progress.

The kid is talented and gutsy. I really hope to see him fully recover. I'm not a religious guy, but I'll throw a prayer out there anyway.

I feel so gutted for Brian right now. Worked basically his whole life , gets a huge shot on one of the best teams on the planet , gets to do his first SX , and then bam , gets hurt and may never walk again. That is just crushing and heart breaking to think about. My thoughts go out to that kid , and hope to hell he gets his legs back!

Another update from his agent Gérard Vallat on motoverte.com (translated with googletranslate):

https://moto-station.com/moto-verte/mx-sx/des-nouvelles-de-brian-moreau…

Recall of facts. After three laps in the first free practice session, Brian Moreau fell heavily on the head. The medical staff evacuated our French pilot "by not respecting any protocol", underlines Gérard Vallat. This aspect of the incident will be explored in more detail in the coming days, but for the moment, it is about the health of Brian. “Brian was then hospitalized in an emergency and operated on the C7 vertebra in order to secure it. When he arrived in the operating room, he was moving his upper body, but had no feeling in his legs. The spinal cord is compressed, but not severed. (edit to make sure it is english: not sectioned). Now wait until the hematoma subsides to release the pressure on the cord. This can take around ten days. We must now wait to know and know the possible developments. His mom left to join him and will be by his side today, explains Gérard. " We hope that the next few days will bring positive signs for Brian and his family!

It is bad but i hope it is a relatively positive news (i hope, i am not a doctor). Sending good vibes, i hope he makes a full recovery !
Spinal cord compressed! That leads me to believe he will make a full recovery. Positive thoughts boys.

It is disappointing to see some twat downvoted that post. Must be a real loser!

Maybe they down voted because the situation sucks, not because they didn’t like it? I’ve seen a few others post that they down voted because they didn’t like the bad news before.

Thanks GuyB. Is he heading into a rehab center there closer to home and to his family I assume? Hoping for the best and that we hear more soon.

I wonder if he's headed to see Pourcel's doctor, who was able to do such fantastic work with him.

My son and 4 other guys did a charity ride from the UK to Lommel GP last year for road to Recovery and today they said they are sending this to Brian Moreau after meeting at the Matterley GP.

If somehow he can get directed to this forum theres quite a few of us in wheelchairs from MX more than willing to offer any advice or answer questions. The 25th was my 19 year anniversary and believe me the first year or 2 are unimaginably difficult mostly because of the unknown. Bowel and bladder care, equipment like a shower chair, special toilet seat, the dos and don'ts of selecting the right wheelchair, etc. Things like leg spasms or autonomic dysreflexia are things they cant really prepare you for in therapy. Hell even being intimate with someone is something I was scared to death of because I didn't know what to expect. This is all stuff most people dont think about when they see or hear about someone paralyzed.

Does anyone know if he had a fusion surgery done or the specific level of his injury?

Good to see Jamie Dobb collecting donations for Brian at the exit of the GP yesterday, more than happy to throw some £££'s into that bucket.

It was nice to hear from Marvin on RDL regarding Brain this past weekend. I still wish they would make some sort of announcement during the night program.
