That was a very basic track for these guys. The track builders have gone to sleep. Mid-90’s - mid 200’s had amazing tracks.

If we had tracks like these again it wouldn’t be the freight train we see now. We would actually the skill level’s of the best come out.
Probably going to get flamed for saying this....but w/e

The tracks are so damn jump-intensive that it seems like most guys are worried to try and make bold passes because if they miss and fall out of line they can lose several seconds or more in an instant.

Great racing is made from big 180 bowl corners with lots of banking. Whoops that challenge the entire field. Long straights that require entry speed and holding on the gas for just a little bit longer than the other guys.

The tracks flat out suck ass is what they do. 90% of the tracks in the last few years have literally been one lined pieces of shit.

Remember when you could actually tell the difference in skill level because only a few guys could actually pull off certain sections? The tracks today don’t allow this for the most part. Here are a few that come to mind..

Tracks like

San Diego 2005
Minneapolis 2002
Toronto 2014
Pontiac 2002
Several 2009 races

Yes that track almost everbody did the same rhythm all the way around. No way to create a time savings and too easy to create mishaps. If is wasnt for the sand it would have been rather boring.

Exactly. Follow the freight train. Wink

Field is deeper, riders are more talented and fit across the board than those years past. People complain about SX taking out too many riders with injuries (calling it Death cross), then complain about tracks being too easy. I thought the track raced really well last night. It was a good combination of good racing and not too dangerous. Riders made mistakes and lost positions, but weren't getting hurt. Multiple riders came through the pack making passes (just wasn't shown on TV). The sand section really brought a good racing twist.

You can just see one of the Huskys jumping far into a corner in front of another Husky & going down, as they pan away to follow the front three. Just by checking their positions I thought it was Osborne down as he was listed near the back

One thing I’ve noticed in last few races is that Kenny can’t seem to get around webb now and same thing last nite as once Cooper passed Kenny back early in race Kenny never got back around him period!! He’s gonna need to figure this out quickly!!

Kenny washed out and went down in the 90 right in front of where i was sitting just as he was about to challenge Webb. Loved the sand every track needs a sand section!

Justin Hill with a solid top 5, hello? He seems to have the fitness aswell. I see him getting a podium this year. So many people wrote him off already and made jokes about his music. To see him getting good results makes me happy!
All the Hill haters have seemed to disappear 👌🏻

Track looked good to me. When people complain about the track it typically means their favorite rider didn’t win. Barcia came from outside the top 10 to 4th, pretty easy for him to pass... points race between 450s is looking good. Hate Marv isn’t there to race with them.

It was more than likely his sons first supercross and he spent the time being a dad. Not everything is money!

Maybe we remember the tracks of the 90’s and 00’s because the bikes and riders hadn’t caught up with the rhythms yet. The bikes and riders are so good now that maybe the obstacles need to be tougher and have less flow. Hughes was mentioning the idea of having the 3rd jump of triples be a table top in which riders can either land on or clear the whole thing. It seems the dragons back is non existent outside of a couple rounds. Maybe they should put a wall jump in between whoop sections.

At the end of the day the racing is tight and riders have to be aggressive making passes. I think the racing has been really good this year outside of last night where the winners checked out.

Here's an observation I haven't seen here yet. Mookie got passed by Deano and El Hombre on the last lap, then he apparently punted El Hombre who then raced AC, while off the track, beating him to the finish line only to be docked 2 positions behind Brayton.

I didn’t really enjoy watching this round. Boring track in my opinion.

Most surprising was Barcia cutting thru the pack to get 4th.... wow.

250 main was boring.

Anderson is living up to the name "FRIED" lately....

It showed Barcia as being in 18th off the start. It showed him in 10th in nothing flat. I guess he passed riders in clusters on the first lap. He was hauling major ass. Then he worked his way past elite riders one by one, and made his way to 4th by passing Justin Hill at the last second. To me, that is amazing. The dude was on a mission. Fought tooth and nail to the checkered flag. Barcia is a beast.

Yes it happened in front of me in the corner. Its wasnt a bad crash but osbornes bike was laid out on the jump face and he had to wait for everyone to go by.

There are different flavors of sand section. Atlanta last year was borderline pea gravel. Really heavy stuff. Tampa was as sugar sand as it gets.

I talked to Roger in the airport this morning, and he said he walked the sand section after the race. His call? With the crazy side-to-side ruts, he called it dangerous.

All these people hating on AC should go watch RC’s rookiecyear in the 250 class. He crashed a lot. AC will be fine.
That observation would be relevant if their 125 (RC) or 250 (AC) careers were anywhere near comparable.

Edit: In fact your comparison seems more applicable to Webb and RC, if you were to write of Webb's 450 struggles after a successful 250 career.

Whatched the flaggers let Vince Friece nearly suffocate under his bike before they ran out and pulled it off of him. One other rider (not sure of his name) also spent a while waving at the track crew from under his bike before they ran out and helped him. Its like they were stoned.

Ya, I was yelling at the TV on the last one. The track worker was right there looking at him while the rider waved him to help get the bike off. He seriously had his head up his ass.

Thats called outside help.
Flaggers are instructed to bring attention to the track crew by waving the flag. Track crew pick up bikes only when absolutely necessary.
