2020 Preseason Supercross Power Rankings

Edited Date/Time 12/14/2019 7:22am
Hmmm... where to begin?? The over-rankings? The snubs? The incorrect spelling of riders names?

https://www.supercrosslive.com/news/2020-preseason-supercross-power-ran…

A panel of 75 people ranging from past Supercross Champions and experts in the industry voted on who should be ranked in the Top 10 in both the 450SX Class and 250SX Class. Osborne took his shirt AND his pants off. I wouldn’t underestimate him.

I wish these experts could spell riders names correctly. KTM is #1 OEM with only 2 450 riders in the top 10, but Kawi is #1 and #4. Not sure where the math works.

Eli has chocked 4 years in a row, and is still considered #1?? Webb Straight up beat everyone including Eli last year, and I consider him the #1 threat again this year.

Am I the only one who wonders when did Jett become bigger thread than Hunter?

Does industry really forget so quickly?

So Hunter Lawrence is not even in the top 10 ?
I would have slotted him in position 5.

Settle down princess!
He only “chocked” 3 years in a row- He has his issues every year I won’t argue however he has improved his points and consistency each year.
Cooper Webb was too good last year, great starts and even had the luck at times.
Roczen & Anderson will be better this year. AC9 and ZO16 will also be in the mix.
It’s going to be a great season, can’t wait! I hope they build some decent tracks that makes good racing!

Hunter lost some hype because he crashed last year and didn’t ride SX.
There also isn’t much social media around his SX skills like Jett. Also Jett just ran with Chris Blose and Oldenburg on first race out so that’s something.
Not sure how it’s going to go for Hunter, hopefully better than Covington

AC in front of Anderson is kinda funny. I like AC as much as anyone, but he has serious issues keeping the rubber side down.

Kenny also has not won an SX in nearly 3 years...or more? I don't remember exact dates.

This is Tomac's to lose IMO. If he can ride at 85% and keep his pants on, no one will have a chance.

I was invited to participate in this poll and I was kind of scratching my head that neither Hunter Lawrence nor Jeremy Martin were on the ballot, but it's probably because they did not race SX last year, and Hunter was put in there as the SX Futures Champ maybe? Maybe they will be on the ballot once they actually start racing...

So they misspelled Brake's first name. Big deal.

There is some things on the list that I don't agree with. Barcia in 7th, got beat this week by Justin brayton, who again won the championchip in Australia even thouth he had an injury, He won Aussx with Anderson there and he won Geneva. He should in my opinion be on the list. Barcia should be in 10th, Brayton in 7th and Wilson should not be there, as he is on the injury list and probably wont be lining op at A1.

And how Jett Lawrence can be on the list is a big questionmark for me. He is a great kid, but we have seen him once in Australia where he got beat be riders who is not on the list.. He is only there because of the hipe and it makes this power ranking look unprofessional. Along with the fact that they can't spell the riders name correctly,.

And where is Jeremy Martin? he did good in Paris and at Monster Cup. Mosiman should be there as well.

They weren't even on the ballot? lol Holy smokes. Jett's the SX Futures Champ, but I'm sure those two are going to get mixed up more than the Hill, Stewart and Martin brothers combined since they're starting SX in the 250 class at the same time AND on the same team. Not to mention the Australian accent and how cheeky they both are.

This poll is put out by Feld, so before reacting consider the source. Not sure who exactly was polled outside of DC, but there is the real possibility that half of the people responding can't even name more than five 250 riders and ten 450 riders.

Where the F is Shane McElrath on the 250 poll? Yeah on a Star Yamaha he's no threat at all....

Like I said, I imagine they will be on when they start racing, and to be fair, it's difficult to list every name of every guy that will be racing in 2020, as I don't recall Brian Moreau being on there either. They had maybe 25 names on the list, so I don't think it was a slight in any way, just a lack of space. It was fun to rank the guys, for sure.

I don't understand AC in 4th. Look who the experts have finishing behind him. No way.

I’m with you on McElrath, it blew me away that he isn’t on this list. I don’t have him as my personal title favorite, but I do think he’s a no doubt top 3 finisher on either coast.
12/13/2019 10:26am
Lol where the hell is McElrath. On that Star Yamaha he's going to win an SX title or come very very close.
That 250 list is ridiculous. I also wouldn't rate Forkner higher than Ferrandis.

In 450 I'm missing Brayton. I think he will do better than Wilson, maybe also better than Barcia

Osborne is too low... Flipping him and AC9. Kenny will have a little more for Webb this year, but I do think Eli will get it done.

Love the stacked fields we have had for the last couple years. It wasn't that long ago that you would pick from 2....

Yep a first-year 450 racer, sitting in front of the 2018 Champ looks odd.
