TL:DR:

Monster is suing a small, craft soda company named "Thunder Beast" because the name is too similar to their trademark "Unleash the beast". They also try to sue a lot of people but don't always win.

My opinion: Someone in the Monster Energy legal dept is bored and needs to find better use of his time. All these nefarious lawsuits are so stupid.

LOL. Tried suing Disney over their movie Monsters University. They go after everything that has the word monster attached to it.

I especially liked this part:

Monster Beverage Corp., an energy drink manufacturer worth $32 billion that claims to make “the meanest energy drink on the planet,” geared to “athletes, musicians, anarchists, coeds, road warriors, metal heads, geeks, hipsters, and bikers.”

Why don't they sue Feld? I mean, after all, it is Monster Jam. They use Monster trucks. Those drivers are athletes, it's an extreme energy packed show with a crowd full of musicians, anarchists, coeds, road warriors, metal heads, geeks, hipsters, and bikers.......plus I'll add gearheads. Sounds to me like Feld has totally cut into the use of the name/word Monster......

Yes, over a beer called the Vermonster. This is somewhat due to our legal system. You have to protect trademarks, if you don’t, you can end up losing the trademark and subsequent trademark protection. Where Monster seems to lose the plot a bit is in how far they take things

$32billion!!!!

And we want to run that checkbook out of our sport! I’m pretty sure Redbull is as strong if not stronger! Gonna take a while for the CBD manufacturing companies to find a spot on that level of income. We might need to be a little nicer, maybe they can invest more until we find a better looking date to the dance.

On a serious note , how would a small business or just some random person fight a lawsuit against someone as big as Monster? I mean seriously.....what chance do you have?

The thing that sucks when huge companies sue small companies over dumb crap like this, is that it costs the small company extremely large sums of money proportionally to defend the suit, which can put that small company in jeopardy. Monster Energy is just being a fricken bully here and i applaud Thunder Beast for fighting back both legally and socially. Unfortunately there are too many Kyle's in the world and, even with tons of bad press, it won't really hurt Monster Energy at all.
