To be fair, this was only during the Women's race. During MX2 and MXGP it was rough, but raceable. That was the same weekend as Prado made his debut in MX2, giving Herlings a hard time during the second moto.

I’m expecting Prado to give Herlings a hard time this year too. Should be very good

Going to be a busy week at the TT Circuit anyway. This weekend from Friday to Sunday there's a round of the British Superbikechampionship, as from Monday they'll have to work non-stop to put the MX-track together before Thursdayevening.

I was hoping they would start a little earlier to prep the track so the sand could "settle".

You can follow the preparations using the webcams around the circuit: https://www.ttcircuit.com/livestreams/

Does Dunlop make a sand tire as good as the Pirelli?

FIM wouldn't let him closer than 1000 meters from the facility. No one is spoiling their fun with actual real fun.

If you wanna throw some facts throw them with all necessary details

Rain in assen day + night
Monday: 4 mm + 6 mm = 10 mm
Tuesday: 8 mm + 1 mm = 9 mm
Wednesday: 6 mm + 0 mm = 6 mm
Thursday: 1 mm + 0 mm = 1 mm
Friday: 0 mm + 0 mm = 0 mm
Saturday: 1 mm + 3 mm = 4 mm
Sunday: 2 mm + 7 mm = 2 mm (MXoN will be run during day hopefully)
source

So it looks like there will be 32 mm of rain (0,008 squirrel for imperial system bois) but the track will not be finished till thursday i guess so there will be at least decently dry layer on top.

Speaking about MXoN...

Was jeffrey's first race back after missing three rounds due injury. Track was very heavy and won that moto with 35 sec ahead of prado. Guess that wasn't too hard.

Ah, it wasn't that hard. I guess that's why Herlings was waving to his mechanics and making gestures to Prado, a 15 year old kid racing his first ever GP against a guy who already won 59 GP's in that class, on his way to #60?

No maybe not, but Prado is twice the rider he was then and is running high on confidence, and will get fantastic starts. Herlings isn’t quite at the peak of his powers at the minute after his injuries. I’m sure he’ll be fired up to win, so it adds up to what could be a great battle

Because Jeffrey is not patient...at the end it was not neccesary, he only had to be patient. The track is difficult to pass and every laptime was faster then prado's. Nice vid but it was only for 2 or 3 laps, i was there.

But Prado steppin up to the big class he is going to make it hard for sure by now...

I hope like hell that it doesn't end up being a swamp. I still look back at last year with huge disappointment regarding the weather. I wish that all the folks from around the world could have seen what a pristine fall weekend in Michigan can be like and how awesome the track would have been in those conditions. I want to see these guys in full race mode rather than survivor mode!

Not really related to the weather at all but apparently the track is going to be a decent bit shorter than in years past, seems they are trying to keep the track visible from the grand stands. Maybe this is old news, though.

You're correct. Track will be shorter than the GP layout so they'll do more laps.

That layout looks so short... 50 sec lap times? Going to be in lappers in just a few laps.

You have to bear in mind that the track they actually raced on at the GP was not exactly the same as the track map and was shorter. I don’t think there will be that much difference in laptime between the GP and the Nations
