13580 Route 86, Edinboro out by the ski slope. Im home for 2 weeks straight. Basically it's a big pitbike track, and the big bike track is currently under construction. I can't run the dozer very good, but my riding buddy runs them for a living. Anytime works.

I picked this up a couple of years ago. Wish I would have had it 25 years ago.

I’ve got a small sand track on my dads property that I don’t ride much anymore. It’s a lot of upkeep. One day I’d love to have a property of my own and build a better track on some better land.

Whatever you output that pump to (I had a steel manifold with 3 hose connections) make sure it either has some pressure relief or that the pump has pressure relief built-in. I learned the hard way that if you deadhead the pump against a closed circuit eventually the impeller housing will crack. Or, just make sure a hose is slightly open every time you start the pump. That's kind of a PITA tho when you are in a hurry to water.

Also, CA fire stations have to inspect fire hoses regularly. That's where I got my 100' hoses from. Free. Worth asking, and pulling a full, 100' hose around is a good workout for moto. Wink

Mike
I picked up this tote for $25 and my water pressure off the main line filled it in 12min. It took two tanks to soak the whole track, not too bad!

Some awesome tracks in here! I agree with everyone’s statements on how much work your own track is! Here are some pictures of our track!

That is what I use. Only I have an old Toyota truck that I put it in the back and have 3 inch pvc pipe shaped like a T and I have holes drilled in it that's as wide as the truck. I also have a rope that I can pull to turn the on and off valve.

Then I just drive around the track.

That's some good looking soil.

Have you tried using a pre-emergent like Preen? Works wonders... We nuked our track with a healthy dose of Roundup on a boom sprayer, tilled, spread Preen all over the track then watered. Let it sit for a week. No weeds.

At minimum, an ATV mounted boom sprayer is a must-have for a track.

Just got my track built this weekend beyond pumped on how it turned out for having very little dirt on site, and only day and half with a dozer and skidsteer, now I just need to figure out something to do basic maintenance to it with, cant see the one end lane in photos, but for only having like 1.7 acres to work with it came out sweet with my decent little hill I have too, have couple lanes on the top of hill with some small doubles cant see and a cool little hip jump too.

Anyone use a sub compact tractor for just like tilling up track, refacing jumps, basic stuff, I need something to mow everything with too, and plow snow, etc. and these seem like the perfect thing but not really sure how much you can do with the tractor as far as dirt working goes ?

I’ve got a Kubota B2650 I would see no issues with maintaining that track with a tractor that size. Anything smaller I’d say no. So far I’ve built my track with my 2650. I do plan on renting something bigger for a weekend when I have everything where I want it. (My neighbor is a excavator he owes me a favor as well) Right now I’m just trying to get the layout perfected before I put too much dirt in the wrong places. I could build anything I wanted with the 2650 it’d just take a little longer is all. I have wooded trails to maintain as well so I didn’t want anything too big. Its pretty amazing what those little tractors can do.

Sweet, I was looking at the BX series or the 1 series John Deeres but that's the next step down from what you have, the smaller wheels on those kind of concern me, the HP is similar and PTO rating, they just weigh less and have smaller wheels.

But I am on a budget to buy one too but don't want to buy the real little one and be kicking myself in the ass cause all I can do is mow with it and plow snow in driveway, but mowing is my main concern lol, but would like to get a little tiller for it so I can till the track and not really concerned about moving much dirt just want to be able to reface jumps and berms when needed maybe add some rollers or small stuff here or there.

Hey for what it’s worth I was in the same boat about a year ago. We have 5 acres and I wanted something for mowing, hauling fire wood, and most importantly moving dirt. I was literally about to pull the trigger on a JD 1 series but the salesmen was dragging his feet and not very helpful. I stumbled upon an LS dealer who was super nice and informative and I ended up being able to get the next size up for the same price as the Deere. The larger tires have come in very handy but it’s still small enough to maneuver easily. I only have about 38 hours on mine but have been quite pleased. It also came with a 6 year warranty. Anyways I’m sure it sounds like a commercial but just my 2 cents. Having done it I’m glad I went with the larger size. Whether tractors or jeans, one of my pet peeves is paying more for a name with no difference in quality.

I was in the same boat as you in the beginning and decided not to use it to mow. Got a zero turn. And stepped up one size on the tractor. Definetly glad I did that. My 2650 does everything I ask of it and a little more with a small footprint and is easy on the yard even w/ loaded tires. Just takes a little more time than a big tractor is all.

Agree to this statement lol. I have enough room for my daughters and I to burn some laps around the backyard on their pw50 but that’s about it. Less yard work is my way of looking at it lol. Awesome thread and all of you have badass pieces of property!

O sweet! I didn’t realize that. Wife’s cousin lives of 6 and CR57 I’m up that way quite a bit!

Sweet set up you have there. If you need to check out a 2650 stop on by!

I run the GP Series at the Reads Tracks. Been setting my place up to practice for those so my moto track isn’t great yet. I have 10.5 acres. (1.5 yard, 1 acre of field for the track, rest is wooded) Trails through out the woods some elevation changes, creek crossings. It’s good practice for GP.

Just ran G&S this weekend. The layout was awesome. Wish they ran more there being that it’s 5 minutes from my house!

Hard no on a subcompact. They don't have a wide enough track to be stable on any side slope. Tilling a berm is enough to roll one, and that's a bad way to end up. I've rented a few smaller ones to till and came close to flipping a couple times. Scary shit. You want at least 30 HP, and if you can adjust track width make it as wide as you can.

30 HP, 4 WD, Hydrostatic, FEL, Jake Rake for ripping, and a 5 foot tiller. That's the hot ticket. Plus mower of course.

Yep I go to a few a year sometimes haha, but I'm not a big woods guy, wish G and S still had the mx track even though it wasn't the greatest was nice to have it there, my dad lives like 3 miles from GandS on Old 3, Im on CR27 like right between Ashley and Waterloo.

Matt Maley if you haven't been lives close to there and he has a nice little track too has big riding party every fall.

If you have FB - Michael Heingartner can add me on there I post when people are riding at places, and so does Zac Maley.

I have heard mixed reviews and your post is what scares me lol, I think I am better off waiting until I can find a better deal on a used one or can get a bigger new one, my tracks pretty small and really don't have a lot of area to till up, but would be nice to be able to do that, plus can use it for anything else around the house.

You can get a 90 to 100hp tractor used for the same price as a new compact. I bought a 4x4 95hp 2012 LS P7040 with a loader and full cab with heat/ac for $27000 a year ago. It had 600 hours on it. I am very glad I didn't buy a new compact. Used prices on compacts are so high you might as well buy new. Big and gently used is the way to go!

This is what I use for the most part. I started out with an old 2n but got this about 10 years ago for 2300.00 I have put hundreds of hours on it and have done nothing but a new tire and oil changes.
