Hunter v Jett on debut

I reckon Jett's prime motivation is to out do his older brother...I call it little brother syndrome ! I know I had it when my brother and I were young..
But Hunter gets 11th overall for his first national at Hangtown and Jett gets 13th in his first ever pro race 3 days after he turns 16 with a strong ride from near last in moto 1 and a terrific 8th place in moto 2.
I call that a fantastic effort! Way to go the little bro!
Bet ya we see Hunter really stepping it up now as he is never gonna want to be outdone by the little bro!
This could get very interesting!

Now what does Honda do? You really have to consider moving this guy up now. Even his first Moto was really good the way he worked his way up. I'm sure it will all come down to whether he can ride an SX track though.

You keep him down until he can keep up on a sx track. Give him another year in amateurs. That skill isnt going anywhere

Yeah wonder whats gonna happen..how many spots do Geiko have for next year?
Surely if Jett races sx next year they will want him to do East coast to have more preparation time, but you would think that Hunter would want to do the same thing for the same reasons , especially after being injured again..will we see both the brothers making their sx debut on the same track on the same day? Interesting!
From what you can believe coming out of Jett"s mouth ,he's done with amateur racing...just a waste of time for him..
On a side note...I just wish both of them would wear full body armour and lessen the risk of collar bone breaks...

HRC is looking a MX2 rider to ride the World Championship... It would be pity to have such a talent and to only "use him" being Honda at a few amateur events. And a full season on a works bike will make him faster that is something Geico knows too so that is a Win/Win not?

Yeah it happens...but for the record Ive been riding and racing for 38 years and always worn full coverage armour and had a long list of nasty injuries but never had a collarbone or shoulder injury.
Just this April I had the scariest most high speed get off I have ever had...i was on my 450 and it was full noise 5th gear ugly! I ploughed the back 40 deep with my left shoulder and face..helmet was toast and my roost 2 left side shoulder cup is gouged right up and some of the fasteners that hold the inner padding torn out of the chest plate.
I got up with not one scratch on my shoulder and no soreness there..but my right wrist was broken...was very lucky

My response to those that believe in this modern myth that 450s are so fast...we ride so fast that we hit the ground so much harder that nothing can save you...is this!

Ok..its all gone to shit and you are on your way over the hangers and about to lawn dart shoulder first into the ground when suddenly God intervenes..freezes time and offers you a set of body armour with the suspension mesh that sits on your shoulder and that hard plastic shoulder cover that sits over that..
What do you do? Do you say "" thanks God, but its all good..I'll be better off hitting the ground with my bare shoulder""
What would you do?



Ive been wearing them since ..forever...copped a bunch of cracked ribs once because I accidentally left the armour at home and had a biggie....and got severe abrasions on my back another time for the same reason...
It particularly bothers me seeing young riders wearing nothing but a jersey out here at our local track...I often help with fallen riders, take their bikes back to their vehicle and load em up...
Lost track of just how many guys Ive seen bust a collarbone or shoulder on this track...and none of them were what Id call fast riders..none of them wearing any upper body protection...it is particularly galling seeing kids on 85's get hurt this way...but hey...I suppose they think they look cool....and hey....the pros dont wear upper body protection either!

Statistically, what’re the results like between younger and older siblings?

I think of the Stewart and Martin bros and between those two, the older brother has always had more success. Though I think it isn’t super common that there are two siblings that are in the pro ranks at roughly the same time so it’s a small sample size. Tough to argue in this instance though, Jett seems like an amazing talent.

Chest protectors have no mechanism to prevent broken collarbones. I don't get why people think they help. They're really just roost protectors.

He's going to go where Geico Honda tells him to go. Amateurs 1 more year, max, then it will be about finding room for him in the bigs.

On Swamp Moto, he said he was definitely racing pro at Hangtown next year, but was not sure on SX. What about the Hahn brothers?
