Until herlings races sx, tomac is the better rider. Herlings May or May not be faster around an outdoors track, but tomac is the better more rounded rider overall.

So In order to be the fastest man on the planet you have to race in America?

I got a little overzealous in the race thread calling ET1 the second coming of RC. Obviously he hasn't chipped off win after win like RC.

My point was, he humiliates the field when he's on. Consistency is his downfall, as everyone is fully aware. His fitness, speed and determination outdoors is light years above from the rest of this field. And I'd argue is on a level of the all time greats.

"Start racing the world championship like 5 rounds in"....So? Ride the US Outdoor series then. Put up or shut up.

I was answering his question which was “let him race 17 rounds of supercross then let him race the world championship” I’ll add Ironman 2017 into the mix while I’m here also fuck it this threads already gone to shit 😂😂

I think people forget, Ricky had some bad days too. The field/competition/racing was different back then. Ricky changed the sport. If Ricky were to come into the sport now, he would most certainly be in the mix at the top, but his impact wouldn't be what it was to the sport 15-20 years ago. Ricky changed the sport. James also changed the sport, Dungey changed the sport even more (throw in RV in that too). Tomac has some of all 4 of those riders in him, but not overwhelmingly similar to any of them.

Supercross was born from motocross and is so engrained into racing in the U.S. that when you take the two disciplines, you have the best overall rider. However it's not fair to add Jefferey to that since he doesn't race supercross. The only fair comparison is the outdoors.

Tomac was impressive yesterday,to say the least, but lets not forget how he did last fall when the best racers from around the globe met up at Red Bud.

You really need to realise that not a whole lot of people over here care for supercross at all. I like it don’t get me wrong but I really think you’d be shocked at the amount of people who don’t care & only watch the gp’s.

I think Tomac on his good day is a healthy Herlings on his average day.
Where is Herlings right now? Hard to beat Eli while doing rehab... someday the bullet will learn...

That wasnt redbud, it was a euro event, it was a mudder... Tomac was on a brand new bike, that wasn't nowhere close to ready... mxgp kawi's used the 18's but Eli was in supercross testing mode the mxgp season was over the week before the nation's race, the ama season ended a month before... Let's not forget that

After watching that race I don't believe it's possible to go faster than Tomac did on that track. He has days where he is quite possibly the FMOTP. Many of our European friends like to compare his races in the mxon or at red bud but those tracks are familiar to the Euro's. Red bud wasen't even the same track..it was all sand and mud. When Herlings came over and won the national Tomac fell trying to pass him and knew he needed to ride smart to secure the championship. Marvin was catching Herlings that day. The point I'm trying to make is that Tomac in beast mode is as fast or faster than anyone. Why is that so hard to acknowledge?

Until Herlings and Tomac race an entire series together you can't even compare them. Single races don't tell the story. Use KR94 at Spring Creek as an example...is he a 14th place racer or a 2nd place racer? All in the same day.

It was Red Bud;and it shouldnt of been any problem for the fastest man on the planet..Im not buying your long list of excuses.

He is the fastest man on the planet only when conditions are just right, I cant argue with that.......

I do my best to not bother with this shit. Tomac is my fav to watch is the Nats and Herlings in the GP's. I've given the nod easily to JH being the best mx'er in the world in the past couple yrs. But something has to be said and points given to being healthy and staying on the bike. Sure seems like Tomac is going to have 3 titles in a row at the end of the season. Herlings the last 3? 1

Europeans have a lot of pride which they had to suck up for 30 years. There is definitely a feeling of superiority, and now that the U.S. has been on a losing streak, the puffing of chests will continue. Herlings, while fast, is not unbeatable.

I was giving Tomac props for an amazing race on an equally amazing race course. When Tomac has his "on" days, he is what the title says.

Current score looks like 2-1 Eli soon to be 3-1. Lets not talk about what would happen if Eli and Herlings ran the same series cause we all already know what would happen, Herlings would be injured by the halfway mark... fragilest mfer on the planet...yes...

Performances against the actual best riders on the planet would suggest otherwise.
