Roger is the problem. He is a selfish individual that picks the team out of extreme bias. He has exiled Mitch, Pro Circuit, Kawasaki, Eli, James Stewart.

If he is the manager this year and a Star Yamaha 250F is not on the team then i am shocked. The start is SOOO important at these types of events and every weekend 4 Star bikes are at the front.

So it was Rogers fault Tomac crashed out of a US victory in 13? It’s Decosters Fault Anderson was landed on in 16 after winning? Decoster put Barcia on a 450 and Webb on a 450 when they were both 250 riders and they did damn good. Plessinger is the only one I can think of that completely shit the bed in the worst MxDN performance arguably in American history. If America wins those two years all the BS around this event dosent exist. Shit happens in a one off race.

I'm loving all the Barcia support in this thread. I'd love to see him go again because he obviously leaves it all out on the track every time. Maybe he will come to life at the next two races which are two of his best tracks and make a case for going Smile

I'd like to see Barcia get back up near the front. I think he has struggled more than expected this year so far.

He's ahead of Baggett in points, but every other contender is ahead of him. 7-10-9-8-7 Not enough performance to make it if the other guys are willing to go to MXoN.

You better send sand guys, not the quickest guys around those groomed silky smooth tracks of yours. NL is dealing with injuries now, but they can now put more focus on being at the top of their game at Assen. Herlings, Coldenhoff and Vlaanderen are going to kill it at MXoN. Just sayin’.

Jason Anderson, Cooper Webb and AC are who should go if we want a fair chance of at least getting a podium. Tomac is awesome, don't get me wrong, but he seems too hot or cold for one off type races to take the chance on whether he's going to have a good day or not. Jason Anderson as well as Cooper Webb are very aggressive riders and even if they aren't the fastest, seem to be a huge pain in the ass to get around at times which can definitely frustrate guys into making mistakes. It would be pretty cool to see RC as team manager.

I think all of those guys care about the event and would give their all to it. Osborne and Barcia are both pretty good sand riders too

Dang, can't you get the NBCSN app over there in Holland (or were you just joking around)? All 5 rounds in the US have been really rough so far this year. Those ruts at Thunder Valley were about as deep as I have seen anywhere in recent years. Did not look very fun to ride! I liked the one that was "eating" the riders on the Southeast corner of the track before the 2nd big triple.

As it is on a sand track i would send:

250: Justin Cooper = I love AC but he admitted himself (and Nick Wey too) he is better on hard ground than on deep sand. Moreover i think the star racing has a stronger motor for the sand tracks. With his amazing starts the kid (J cooper) could do really well at Assen.

450: E.Tomac = Of course IF he wanna go and IF he is motivated by the revenge ! Otherwise i would send Zach Osborne.

Open: J.Anderson = People argue between him and Osborne but i do think this year Anderson is faster on the 450 than Osborne. Moreover he is hungry of winning the Mxon and want to be back in the team so bad after what happened in 2016 !

Concerning France for now i would send:

250: Ferrandis
450: Musquin
Open: Febvre

Kawasaki is saying they don't plan to support the MXoN. This could all change if Monster forces them to go. If not, then neither Tomac or AC are going. I wouldn't take AC anyway, on the Pulp Show his coach Nick Wey even says sand is AC's weakness. So let's assume no green bikes. Now realistically the list of candidates is Anderson, Webb, Zacho, Barcia and Justin Cooper. Since DeCoster later seems to favour taking a 250 guy instead of a 450 guy dropping down that puts Justin Cooper in there. Then I think you have to take Anderson and Osborne, though Barcia is a proven MXoN performer, but he's said his one wrist will need surgery and IMO now way he delays that by 6 weeks to ride MXoN. So the team realistically is Anderson, Osborne, Justin Cooper. Not bad, but I'd be a bit worried about Cooper and the pressure cooker of MXoN.

My world:

I've said elsewhere, a good team would be a combo of Anderson, Osborne, Webb with one of Zacho or Coop dropping down to the 250. All 3 have raced MXoN, all 3 ride for Austria which might make the team more cohesive and would certainly improve logistics, and all 3 train together. I think either Zacho or Coop could race MX2 and be the 2nd best rider behind Prado with a couple of weeks on the bike, although I'm probably discrediting Jago Geerts and Hunter Lawrence with that statement.

I think Honda is also a bit so-so on supporting the American MXoN effort. Maybe not as blatant as Sternstrom and Kawasak but I recall some statements from Dan Betley a few years back talking about how much money and effort it takes, and that the maximum Honda would ever send would be 1 rider. This might have been in 2013 when they sent both Tomac and Barcia. They did go with Seely in 2017 and it was a disaster on every level.

Zacho or Webb would be close to Prado... But don't leave Ferrandis off of that list. I think they all beat Geerts including Lawrence in a typical series. But there is nothing typical about MXoN, that's why Justin Cooper would make me nervous.

While we're on the subject of MXoN, I'd like to suggest that if we win...we don't flood the site with, "I told you the USA has the best riders and tracks". If we lose, we don't start whining that, "Our best riders couldnt/wouldnt go...tracks were made for Euro advantage...Roger sucks".

The results speak for themselves. On that day, at that place....X-country had the best riders and team...there is no further argument. You are either a fan of moto or just a fan boy. The first gets respect...the second should go back to pro wrestling or football. This sport is too small for tribalism.

Loyalty and support of a particular rider or home country is fantastic but it's never an excuse to belittle or deride the competition. No matter who represents the USA I'll be rooting for them 100%.
