An honor and privledge until you finish anywhere but 1st, and then they get shit on for the next 6 weeks.

It's a two way street and one side hasn't been keeping their end of the bargain (hint, it's not the riders).

I was going to post and ask that very question, why the hate so much when they risk their neck out there for your country and honour. I respect every rider out there that tries his best regardless of where they finish.

I agree with Tomac, Osborne, and Anderson as well as Tomac Sr and Aldon as trainer.

You should have read the BS around here after the 2003 MXoN (MotoDrive days). The hate Ferry and Hughes got was unreal.

On a side note... seems like the "Should the US Send a Team" issue has been around for a decent while.

No poll?

I honestly think it would be interesting to give Barcia a star Yamaha 250 and see where his speed is before sending him over there. I think that bike is the fastest 250f (probably ever), he’s a good sand rider, and would never turn down the chance to go. I wish we didn’t have to decide at Unadilla. I’d love to see how Barcia is with a few weeks on the 250f.

We need to pick good sand riders, not just the leaders of each series. Osborne, Tomac (if he would), AC (if he would), maybe Anderson? I don’t trust Justin Cooper yet, but he will be there some day. Anyone know how Mosiman is in the sand? He’s turning out to be really solid.

450/Open options (best options first)
Tomac
Osborne
Anderson
Webb

250:
AC
Barcia
Cooper
Sexton
Mosiman

Manager:
Mitch Payton
Dan Bentley
A past MXDN member who’d be interested like RJ, Bailey, O’Mara, someone who understands what the race is about and how to work like a team.

Send Tomac, Rozczen and Ferrandis
You mean: Musquin, Roczen, Ferrandis. Go USA!

In my opinion Anderson > Osborne, all day every day.

Especially once he hits 100% which I don't think he is at yet.

With that said, I am surprised how well Osborne has done on the 450.

1: Tomac
2: Anderson
3: a: Justin Cooper b:AC c: Chase Sexton

Sexton seems to have a good sand riding style IMO, he stands a lot and is tall.

To be either would be a great choice. Anderson probably has a bit more speed, but Osborne has raced Assen before

Just had to Google that one, how on earth can you blame a rider for his chain coming off 🤣.
Was at the 2006 one in UK, right in front of the jump Stewart stalled/crashed on. No one there was booing but cheering him on feeling sorry for him kicking that KXF like a mad man.

are you sure Osborne raced Assen before ? Assen started in 2014 or 2015 , Zach returned to AMA in 2013 if im correct ..i think Covington is only US GP rider who has raced at Assen

Thanks for the link. Crazy that we’ve been complaining about the exact same thing for 15 years.

I will vote Zach on the 250, and Anderson and Barcia on the 450 as well. I think the event would eat up Cooper, and it seems clear that Kawasaki doesn't want to go. These guys can win. And I'm sure they would all want to go, and considering where they are going, they need to want to go-Assen is going to be tough beans.

The track is going to suck IMO, I still can't believe they are holding it in a road racing circuit. Sorry, just have to throw that in there on every Assen related thread.

On the US riders, I think Osborne and Anderson would be hungry to go if they were both healthy and Husky was on board, which I would imagine they would be. On the 250s AC, Sexton or Cooper would do fine, and I would guess that both Sexton or Cooper would both be excited to go if the opportunity came along (not sure about AC??). I actually think Tomac would be interested if the timing was different as an opportunity for some redemption, but I agree with others saying it seems unlikely he would go again this year especially if the team was uninterested....

The rule states the rider MUST hold a passport from the country they represent but can hold a license from ANY FMN. I'm pretty sure that qualifies Marvin and possibly Roczen. Those two and Zacho would make a dandy team.

If not them, I'm perfectly happy sending riders that have never said no when asked. Barcia, Anderson, Zach, Baggett, Amart.

Is there any other country that has had their top riders refuse to go (not counting injuries).

The MXoN is not just about winning. It's about being part of the International brotherhood of MOTO. Winning is awesome but the competition and struggle are what makes it so sweet. It's the showcase for each nation...our most dedicated, most talented, most worthy riders. I refuse to let those who believe our current losing streak has diminished the prestige and honor this race deserves.

If you're one of those whiney bitches that says our riders can wax anyone on an American track...just STFU already. I don't hear the Japanese, South Africans, Australians, Mexicans complaining about where the race is held. If you need to use the excuse that US riders don't have time for the MXoN because of SX testing...again STFU. If that's true then fair enough...but NEVER ever say "So and so American rider, that didn't go, is faster than the guy that won his class at the Nations". That race is PUT UP OR SHUT UP....end of discussion.

You are perfectly free to disagree with me but you will still be wrong.

Tomas, Osbourne, and AC. Osbourne has the GP experience and seems like an obvious choice to me.

You need sand animals. Of the guys and teams likely to support it, your best chance would be:

Osborne
Barcia
J Cooper

Do you even remember that Carmichael himself turned it down multiple times? 2002 and 2004. In fact his choice was the principal reason the US folded and didn't field a team either time.

If anyone deserves your scorn, it is Giuseppe, who through a lot of shady shit has been awarded absolute control of this event and made himself the central benefactor. National pride is his main tool, you are doing his work for him.

It is a superb race, the best of the year. But if you want better participation, there needs to be more incentive for teams and federations to be involved.

The moment that dipshit Roger Decoster stops taking a rider from the 250 class is the moment we become competitive again. Barcia on a Star 250F. Make it happen.

Did you really just call Roger DeCoster a "dipshit"? You did that?

Go look in the mirror. Theres the "dipshit" looking right back at you...like a "dipshit"

Is that simple enough for you to understand dipshit?
