So remind me, when was the last time Honda won the 450 title?

This year? Hmmm. I think that's up in the air, no pun intended. lol
But it has been a fun year.

Yep KR in 16 and he won an RMZ as well. My point was the Zooks are good bikes too. Saying JGR will ruin him is absurd.

Never said anything about Zooks or their capability to win

Noreen will stay at Honda, it is even possible that he will be signed as Roczen team mate - Cole will most likely retire.

I see Joey going to JGR making room for Adam (if he moves up), if not Joey stays with Tomac on a one year extention.

Martin D is looking for a ride but his prospects are looking thin. Hey may call it a day.

Obviously all speculation...

My speculations-

Noren to JGR (outdoors)
Savatgy to Honda (2020)
AC to Kawasaki (450) (2020)
Davalos ~ retirement after outdoors
Seely ~ TBD after shoulder heals up. There are a couple teams interested from what I am hearing.

My 2 cents.....
For sure going to be interesting and I have already speculated but I need to add, there is always that chance AC stays in 250's which will change the open market.

Noren wont be a Honda factory rider next year, the ride is going to someone else

Sadly, Noren will never get a decent 450 ride as long as his SX results arent up to snuff. To be fair, he hasnt gotten the chance to ride a 450 at supercross yet. He´s done "ok" on his limited rides on a 250, even qualified for a 450 main on that 250, but never ridden a 450 as far as I know.

There´s teams that do SX only, but none (to my knowledge anyway) that do MX only.

He should still get this fill-in though. Makes so much sense

He’s not getting a factory ride. It’s as simple as that. I wish he would like everyone else but it’s just not happening. Fill in ride? Sure it could happen. He’ll never have a factory bike for the year though.

You’ve got all these guys who have consistently beat him year in year out who will be fighting for factory rides. You’ve got 450 rookies who have consistently beat him and will continue to do so. You’ve got young guys coming out of the 250 class looking to prove something who will beat him. I’m not trying to be an ass, I’m just realistic. All these theories here are simply pipe dreams. When teams look to hire a full time factory rider they look at the full body of work presented by a rider. They don’t base their decisions off of a few races throughout the entire year. Will they give a fill in ride to someone with a few nice races? Sure, sometimes. But he damn well better do something really special with that fill in ride otherwise it’ll be gone at the end of the season and he’ll be in the same position at the beginning of the next year. MOST of the time they don’t do something special because they simply don’t have “it.”

A fill in for 2019 outdoors on JGR is great for both FF and JGR.

FF - now is paying his way and not making much if any money.-- if he goes to JRG and gets a paycheck and can spend more time at practice track and not worrying on getting to each race - thats a win for him.

JGR - no permanent riders riding. Chiz filling in is only a top 20 on a good day. FF gets on and can give top 15's and some top 10's. Gets JGR excited to get to the races for the rest of the season.

Seems like an easy decision for both!

Well that's an empty statement if I ever saw one.
You need either a question mark at the end of that sentence or a source to confirm it.

I was referring to Gasjer overseas because the universe doesn't revolve around the US like we think it does, but I agree that the bike probably isn't going to ruin him. I think he'll turn in very similar results anywhere from 8-16.

Good luck Freddie, I cannot fault you for taking a ride when you are paying out of your own pocket, and I hope you are able keep up the good results.

Those JGR 'zuk's are really good off the line. Let's see if FF can start closer to the front. It's certainly possible.

Chiz never really got a fair shot with them imo. Only 2 days on bike before highpoint and then another 2 days before ww. The heat was factor too. So I feel they should’ve gave Chiz more of chance but it’s JGR they expect Jesus on that bike and to win. They didn’t learn with JS7, JB10, JB51. Hopefully Freddie does well for them.

Why is everybody is saying Suzuki and JGR are a step down from Honda and HRC?

Honda has NO 450 championships in the past 10 years, while Suzuki has what 4 or 5? About 1 every other year.

HRC and JGR have the same number of championships in the past 10 years. NONE

HRC isn't a step up from any factory team. I know the old school people will hate me for saying that, but this isn't the 1900s.

I hope he proves the JGR curse wrong.

Also does anyone know what suspension Roczen was running in 2016? What is JGR running on their Suzukis?
Edit: Some pics have Showa and some have KYB on Roczens Suzuki, I think he switched to KYB and that was the final piece to the puzzle IIRC.

You make some good points here.

One could also argue Honda has no 450 championships since RC in 2004 because they were too cheap to pay for the best riders, and that once they did decide to pay big they had the unfortunate luck to sign the best rider in the world who quickly went on to have one of the worst injuries in the history of the sport.

I still believe a full HRC effort is the premium in the sport, alongside RedBull/KTM.
