Seemed down alot from 2017. They haven't sold top teir Tix since the first year, but this yr there were a ton of unsold 2nd level seats. Bummer. I'm guessing 30k. Place holds 80k. Still a great time. But pls stop playing music from the minute the board goes up until they exit the first turn. We wanna hear the bikes.

Those speckled seats were a great idea to make it look like people in the seats.

The bottom level seemed full and most of 2nd level.

The place is so massive not sure our sport could fill it any time soon....assuming small growth year over year.

Maybe Feld should donate all 3rd level tickets to schools etc. to fill it up and get new people into watching the sport perhaps.

Hot chicks bring more spectators. Why do you think Anaheim would sell out when the tickets were reasonably priced? The 20 year olds would show up to show off their hot chicks..anaheim was a must go to event

Although I disagree with your delivery most of the time (all of the time), you aren't wrong here. In the late 90's till mid-late 2000's, you would be able to have a nice night with the family/friends for a fair price. Anyone remember the $10 "Tread Head" seats? Always sold all three Anaheim's out.

Now it's $25 to park (no tailgate'ing), and 3 to 4x the ticket prices of 20 years ago. Has the show/entertainment value gone up that much to justify? Debatable. Yeah, you want to charge up for club levels, go for it. But make the lower bowls and upper decks $15-25 a seat, place will be close to a sell out.

The tickets are the cheapest thing about going to a race. I had fantastic tickets and I think they were 30 something dollars. it’s the hotel room, parking, gas to get there, food, drinks etc that are ridiculous.

Logistics have changed for some, but the core thought is the same. Price of admission will always be a road block to actually spending money once in the door.

Not saying concessions haven't gone up exponentially as well, but those are usually more palpable when you feel you got a deal walking in the door.

That being said, this sport is being priced into the ground.

My parking for the Angels opening day was $10, $15 for preferred.

It's $25 for SX.

It was $30 for parking at E. Rutherford. But Shuttle buses were picking people up at all the hotels. I paid $8 to get shuttled from my hotel to the stadium.

I paid 30 to park, 5 bucks for a water, hoodies were $120, chicken fingers and fries $14, $6 for a fountain soda with made 3 cents worth of product in it lol. $7 for a pretzel.

I get making a buck but god damn.

Also completely agreed with the music and shut the fuck up before the start.

Yep. That’s why I said the SX ticket was the most reasonably priced thing about going to the race. The rest of the stuff is the stadium. It has nothing to do with Feld.

You can spend a day at a NASCAR race for almost the same amount of money and get more for your dollar. I’m not a big nascar fan but dollar for dollar you decide.
A good concert cost about the same.

Last I knew, beer and food were cheaper at the baseball games at Anaheim and Dodger stadium than they are for SX. It's stupid. I love going to A1 and A2, but we haven't been able to go the last few years because it's so expensive. It's $200+ just for tickets for me to take my wife and 2 kids. We just can't justify it. Especially when we can watch everything live from home. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing like being there, but it's just hard to justify that much money to take my 3 and 6 year old to watch.

Yeah, I spent $12 on a beer. Which was dumb. $10 for a small pizza for the kid. $13 for chicken tenders and fries. $6 for a small Pepsi.

But then again we went to Dave and busters this weekend and it cost $80 for a chicken salad, some crap meal my wife got, a kids burger meal, macaroni and cheese, one beer, a soda and two chocolate milks. Crazy times man.

Yeah, the big movie theatre chains are ridiculous. We have a small theatre here that only has 2 movies playing at a time and it costs $6 per adult ticket and $3 for kids.

$25 per ticket?? Dang I haven't gone to a movie theater for a long time, I for sure won't be going for that price! Was that because of the movie or is it always that much?

Five of us from RI were in 219 club section. Some empty seats infront of us and behind us. Looking around I’d say it was well attended but probably less than a few years ago.

And they also play 81 home games over the course of the season vs. 2 races at Anaheim ?

That's hardly an apples to apples comparison

Come see a race at Jerry World in Arlington TX. These new stadiums are having to get paid one way or the other.

I think live sports are in an interesting time. Looking at photos of the "crowd" at the recent NASCAR race at Bristol, Supercross isn't doing bad at all.

That said, live is a completely different perspective than on TV.

In the new atlanta dome the food and drinks are actually super reasonable. You can refill the sodas yourself for free as much as you want. Hope other stadiums follow suit.

We were there and I mentioned to my wife how many empty seats there seemed to be. Food prices are ridiculous + parking fees. We went into NYC and parked for less including PATH train into city and ate at a sit down restaurant with margaritas for less than parking and a freaking hot dog, fries and water at MetLife stadium! Thank goodness for the free lunch from Toyota in the pits!
4/29/2019 6:07pm
Look at any professional sport and you will see empty seats. Could be the cost, could be it's on TV, could be people aren't interested. It's not unique to supercross.

It seemed "light" in attendance this year compared to years prior. My kid, myself, and my extended family had an awesome time this year Bros!

The prices to go to an SX have really gone up, so now we just load up and sit in front of the tube by the fire. I can fill the smoker with ribs, chicken, pulled pork, a few sides, and a good case of beer for race night at 60 bucks or so, and be cozy. I'm not cheap by any means, but it seems everything is going up, and wages aren't. Gotta make my entertainment dollar work as best it can! Besides....... I like having my own pisser just a few steps away from my recliner.

I hate the day time starts. I know they do it for TV but I don't care. It's not the same, and it deters me from going to an extent.
