That’s kind of ludicrous. They wouldn’t intentionally hurt the image of their brand.

Looks like mom let the cat out of the bag. Not gelling with the new bike yet. Hopefully it works good for him outdoors.
The bike is more agile, more small but less stable imo. I don't think it will be better for outdoors unfortunately. I could be wrong

It looks like he's fighting the bike in the turns and through the whoops. Aren't those the 2 places he's usually killing it? Any chance Kawi knows he's leaving after this year, and just aren't building him the bike he wants so they don't have to pay him the big win and champoinship bonuses?
are you serious ? Shocked

But would it? Would it actually hurt their image? It's not like they would advertise what's going on.

If they have a "next best thing" mentality, or even a "next rider up" thought, would they want to help Eli win? Or would it be better for them to not give him what he's looking for in a bike so he doesn't win, and maybe even hurt his confidence in the process?

Not saying that this is 100% what's going on, just asking the question.

It definitely wouldn't hurt their wallet.

Mx is definitely more his element. Seeing that these guys have to race 2 sports is pretty insane and tbh if he only has a few mx championships plus his 250 mx+sx championships thats still an impressive career. Lots of sx race wins also.

Elaborating on the GAD that I believe he has (generalized anxiety disorder), assomeone who also has this I see some of the “traits” in his interviews. I do not know if he does, but this is my guess. There are different severities, but if you have panic attacks this could explain him dropping the anchor. Ive almost blacked out and thats with 0 physical exertion. I can only imagine how in sx you have the massive crowds that are so close, and everything you do they cheer, so you can “feel” their eyes watching your every move. It seems when something big happens between him and another rider is when he drops the anchor or if he falls.

Everybody has anxiety or can panic, but the actual disorder makes it so at the snap of a finger your heart rate maxes out completely. Then it skips beats, pauses, flutters, and your ears ring, grey out/tunnel vision, numb fingers, completely out of breath... His mannerisms have always struck me as someone with anxiety, but obviously I cant know how severe. But if he has a panic attack out there that would explain why he runs out of gas at the snap of a finger when something big happens, why he makes those small mistakes he shouldnt make, and “drops the anchor”.

If u think u messed up, and you feel the whole 40 thousand peoples eyes watching you fumble with ur pants for example, youd almost grey out. Come to think of it theres been a few times he upped and left when seemingly uninjured. When Id be in class or something and felt a panic attack coming on there wasnt a person on Earth who could have stopped me from getting tf outta there, I would have gladly fought to the death to just be able to get air outside by myself and regroup.

I did notice. That's what makes it so odd. One week he dominates, the next he can't make the bike turn.

If the bike is good and Eli has good physical health what can be the issue? We've seen the speed this year, it's there.

Eli acts like he has made a life decision and that part of his life is on the horizon and the racing part of it is over and it no longer has 100% of his focus.

He's moving on.

I’m afraid you might be right. Better for the intermediate rider, not a pro. Haven’t ridden one yet, but that’s the impression I get. That’s what I like most about my previous gen KX.

According to his mom, the bike is the problem.

Something is going on over at Kawasaki....(not in a good way)

Tomac has been hearing rumors and a certain investment maybe the last straw.

Couple observations:

* This year, Tomac reminds me of McGrath riding outdoors in 1997. He was so "over it."

* It is my humble opinion that Ryan Dungey would have no trouble winning the championship this year, if he was racing it.

Williamson says bike is good <> Mrs. Tomac says bike does not do what Eli wants + Eli not winning = Tension

Seems pretty straight forward to me.

Same. This is because Williamson says the bike is good that I think that the problem is obviously the bike.

Williamson says the bike is good. He said that after he rode a long moto on a SX track at Eli's pace? Sounds like he was having an ego war with Tomac about the bike being "good." The bike needs to be good for the rider, that is all that matters.

I don't buy this crap that the bike is the problem with Eli. They can literally tune that machine to do almost anything he asks for. Tomac has a mental block when it comes to SX. Meaning he feels he just can't win a SX title no matter what he does, doesn't like the risks to win a SX title or simply doesn't really like SX. Because in the outdoors, when he is on, nobody can really touch the guy. His comfort zone is clearly outdoors.

I'm in total agreement with you guys. There's something going on with the bike. Corner speed and entrance into the whoops was just not there - very noticeable. On a side note, every single KTM was pivoting on a dime last night, all looked dialed including the RMATV team. Rewatching the races and focusing on the cornering of the KTMs versus the Kawi was crazy. And I'm no KTM fanboy (ride a Yami). Even the race Tomac beat Webb, he still didn't turn the bike very well.

There a video/interview out there somewhere with Eli talking about how much he likes the new bike and that it is especially better for Supercross. Strange that its not turned out that way.

At A1 this year i noticed they split the team in half. Eli had his own crew chief and Joey had his own.
What happened after MEC ?
Joey is not in the PC rig as of a few hours ago.

The race day interviews ive seen from Joey, after the race. Are all in the Pro Circuit semi.
Probably because AC is way more fun to be around than a stressed out ET?

Webb is leading in the points mainly due to consistency and avoiding first turn debacles. He's been fast enough, but not blazing fast. The biggest thing though in my opinion has been his starts are really solid and he has avoided the first turn carnage, unlike Tomac, Marv, and KR. Definitely a season where Dungey would have most likely taken the championship. Ironically, both have/had the same mechanic.

He seems so solid/stable too. Solid/stable the way RC used to be in that when he tangled with someone the other guy gets the short end of the stick.

Maybe he gets flashbacks of his pants falling down and it gives him panic attacks, I think it's called post pant-falling stress disorder.

Makes me wonder how Jason Anderson would fit into the whole mix this season. If Kawi hadn't come out with a new bike for this year. Now that would be a topic especially if Eli had no injuries from A1. Maybe for his riding to be at 10/10th all the time the 19' model just doesn't instill confidence. He not the first pro whos results changed with a new bike nor the last.

He has to say that though, doesn't he? Promoting a team and product is part of his job.

Not gelling with the bike gives him plenty to be anxious about on the track. He's not performing up to expectations and isn't comfortable enough to push to his full capability. That sucks, and he must either "get over it" (which is far easier said than done), or find a bike/team that works better for him.
