What’s going on with Justin Hill?

What is going on with jr? He showed the best potential in his first race back last year on the 450s. Seemed back then that this year would have been a great year for him. But but but.. Does anyone know what’s the thing with him?

Seems he doesn’t try at the races but then I hear “he’s putting in sooooo much work during the week and he’s 3 seconds faster then chad and he’s in the best shape of his life”. Which I don’t believe...if he starts 15th he doesn’t seem interested at all and rides around and then he’s being lapped in 5 laps. Guess he tried for a ride and now that he has one he doesn’t really care. If he wants to keep a ride he better get focused and really go for it. Times running out

And I’m not hating on Hill at all. I hope he kills it and gets a ride but hard watching him when he puts in little effort. BUT Daytona was a very good ride

imo which a dollar and that will get you 4 quarters. hes not hungry. you cant buy what he needs. its awesome to watch when he is on. he needs to want it on 1st.

My jaw dropped when i heard JBone say that Hill is "back on track" and sticking with his program a few weeks ago. What the hell has been going on in the off season and early parts of the season then?

Hill didn't turn up at all in 2018 except when he jumped on the 450. I would imagine that JGR and the team manager (JBone) would make sure that their expensive 450 rider would put in the work after what happened in 2018. I guess not.

I'm sorry but from the outside this looks so bad on so many levels for both Hill himself and JGR that seems to be uncapable of managing him.

The guy has the talent to do it. That is the most frustrating part.

A lot has been surrounding JGR too lately many rumors about their future and after what happened to the Gibbs family I don’t know if they will want to keep digging the moto industry anymore at that level. But as for the moment being it is a shame to facing this situation. Having Reed and Hill. The veteran and the rookie. With Reed doing Reed and Hill is nowhere near. He is a 250s champ a highly expectated rookie comes from a great moto family but he doesn’t show that in any way. I’m a huge Hill fan myself and I’m not happy for seeing him struggling

I don't know why they would even consider letting him ride outdoors. If they can't see the writing on the wall it's pretty sad. Will be worse than his supercross season he'll just be cruising around by the 15 min mark.

Seems like he only delivers when he needs a new contract. He definitely has the speed in practice but putting a decent race together is something else.

On Mathes or someone else story was Jr Hill got distraction at California and now should be back on track by relocated to JGR track area. I guess rumours him party all week could have been partly truth by sound of it. Also said he been faster than Reed at practice but not weekends.. If he wants to be races this could be last chance to build career.

Hill is a waste. Fastest qualifier...fastest in practice...fastest during the week...blah blah blah. That stuff doesn't pay the bills. Gotta be fast on Saturday night. Hill just doing Hill is what I see

Yeah I’d bench him for outdoors + I don’t even think he would want to do outdoors. Now maybe if he turns it around the rest of the season give it a shot

The worst part in his interviews he doesn't act like he's all that bothered by his performances. Kinda laughs it off . Like to see him up front but it isn't looking good at all.

I really hope he gets his shit together and improves. Him, Wilson and Peick are some of my favorite riders and I was hoping all three would really be up there this season.

No doubt he is a gifted rider, but not much of a racer. I could see him lighting it up on the practice track for a few laps, with no other riders around him. Racing is a completely different deal though, and he clearly doesn't have the heart for it. Outdoor Nationals would only expose him more. It is not like he is bad guy. lots of rider like this, It only shows how gnarly some racers like Reed are. They get up way early and do the hard grunt work when no one is looking. Come race day they eat everyone up.

I don't like cooper Webb, but there is no point of comparison. Webb always showed desire on the 250, won SX and MX. Hill never cared to perform decently outdoors

High Point (4-6) 5th overall
Tennessee (8-7) 7th overall
Southwick (21-DNF) 40th overall

Only 4 top ten finishes in a 12 race series, and only one top 5, a 5th. A factory rider should live in the top 10, even a rookie. If Savatgy puts up these type numbers in upcoming nationals people are going to roast him!

Seems like these guys who have interests in music have their attention spread too thin. If you want success in SX or MX, it's 100% racing. No time to invest at getting good at music.

Both Hill boys seem to have the Pastrana ADD. Lack of 100% focus on racing.

My friends all say he should concentrate on mx his music skills are lacking to go anywhere in that business.
