I swear there was a thread about a year ago with people sharing their experiences of getting passed by pros. I couldn't find it on the search function but some of the stories were absolute greatness.

I want to say it was 2009 when Cole Ceely flew by me at Comp edge. Couldn’t believe how fast he was going

He lapped me twice during my 18 minute moto..
He was so fast that day that when he started riding, most of the people stopped to watch him.
Also was riding at dmp, another local track when darian sanyei turned up, that guy can go fast.
Back when I was a C rider on a 250F, I was wide open down the back straight at Walden (...or what I thought was wide open at the time...) thinking there's no way anyone in the world could be going faster than me ?. Justin Barcia blows past me on a CR85 in a wheelie like I was standing still. Almost took up knitting after that.
Last year Meadow Valley a rider quadded right over my head on something I didn't even realize you could jump that far. At first I was kind of pissed because it was pretty risky for practice. Then I saw his name on his back and went "oh cool, that's Jerry Robin!". Not sure why that made it ok in my mind, but it did lol.
Next lap I see him stopped in same corner. I thought he stalled. Next thing I know hes on the ground wrestling with the guy who was working the hose on the water truck. I remember I kept going thinking something along the lines of "not surprised".
That was the infamous water hose incident where apparently the kid watering the track sprayed him and he decided it was personal. Dropped the bike and went after him the next time by.
Trevor Bollinger at a local hare scramble. I was leading my class by two minutes, Thinking I was moving along pretty quick until a he flew by me and was literally gone in the trees within 10 seconds. Usually when the AA guys pass me I can hear them coming up but I didn't even get a chance to move over for him, He didn't seem to mind anyway. Dude was moving so fast looked like he could bulldoze down one of the trees and keep riding.
Pit Row
During a Hangover Marathon at Sand Hill Ranch, Rodney Smith Lapped me a few times. This was after his mx/gp career and was racing off-road stuff. He was so smooth, so relaxed looking you would swear he was just enjoying a trail ride.
You know the pro's are fast, however when you are going as hard as you can and they catch, pass, and leave you so quickly it is hard to imagine how there is such a difference.
2) Tim Ferry was rolling a triple checking it out as I tripled over him. The t-shirt “hey your pretty fast——NOT” came to my mind at the moment
Josh grant passed me down hill at what seemed like warp speed. Then bagget and AC on a kx100 blew past me in the rythms by the stands. I went up to joshs box truck asked him for a pair of goggles, he took the sweaty ones off his helmet and threw them at me. Pretty cool, i wore those trick Oakley goggles out over the next couple seasons.
