It wasn't planned. Borrowed a 2019 YZF250/boots/helmet/goggles/gloves and rode in sweats/hoodie. Last time I rode was in France on a YZ250 in October 2015...

Myself, just spinning uncontrollably into my 60's yet still an addict for most things two wheel, and then throw in a prep'd track and I'm there at my weakest.
Yet! Over the past 45 years ive had 4 seperate breaks where i hadnt touched a bike in 18 or more months...and like DV one was more than 3 years. None of them were due to injury but from some attitude and out of control chasing my tail shit.

How's that even happen to our kind DV?!?

I’ve got a set of DV12 gear I could sell you...lol.

Always amazes me how you fast guys never seem to get “slow”. Good times!

Nice! "We can work with speed."
Imagine if straight rythem was around when DV was in his prime especially that first year with like 100 whoops.
Of coarse you railed the turns too though.

But for real you should keep riding, the most frustrating feeling is at the 5 year mark of not riding consistently it starts to go away somewhat

Awesome. It's hard for us normal folks to understand how someone could go a year without riding, or even lose interest in riding. Almost as hard as it is for us to realize when you've been top level pro speed, there is a whole other level of ability and knowledge us mortals just never will understand.

Another poster asked, and I'd love to hear your answer too, how does the bike you rode compare in your mind to a factory 125 of 15 years ago?

When you've ridden as much as DV has, you never loose it, it's always there! Just putting your boots, gloves, helmet and googles on, puts you in the zone!!!
