Also, I’ve noticed the 450 is a bit lethargic compared to the 250 in terms of snappiness in the lower gears. Kind of odd.

My overall impression is that if I mess up 2 or 3 times on the first couple of laps, it can sometimes end up being quite difficult to then come back through without yet more mistakes (I refuse to restart no matter what). But by the same token you can also wind-up with a 20 sec etc lead if you don't screw-up and nail everything right. So a decent balance overall I feel.
The physics - yes the bikes are slow and boggy at the very slowest speeds but I think that's a good thing. This is the one thing that the game shares a little bit with 'Reflex' (though otherwise of course being very different). The skill of the game is about keeping your momentum. That's the separator. A percentage of people didn't like it in Reflex either but that series only got progressively more and more awful the more the bikes were turned into rocketships...
Now that my bike is upgraded I've lapped up to 3rd twice now. 15 minute mains of course.
Overall I like the game though. Hopefully the 450 gets tougher like it did in last years game.
in each topic of training, every 10 stars you earn you receive an “update” to a certain aspect of the game. the first 10 stars you get, you receive a bronze star and trophy and it tells you what part of the physics you have improved. once you get another 10 stars you get another update to the specific part of traingig your doing. note tho for example, the corner speed training advances “braking power” and landing training advances “in air control” if i remember correctly. so just because the training says one thing doesn’t mean that’s exactly what gets improved with the training. i forget what the other training parts effect. after you get 20 stars you still have to get 10 more to get all 30 stars and once you get 30 you’ll get yer another improvement in a certain part of the game. you unlock tracks at the compound by doing head to head races and time trials. in training, if you get to a part that’s locked it will tell you what you need to do to unlock it. it could be you need more XP so you’ll have to do meeting with the fans and such. all of the information will come to you if you just play the game in career mode and stop giving up because you suck at first. the gameplay is much different after getting all the training done

Also, any suggestions on bike set ups from anyone?

this game is much improved overall over the first game imo tho.
Also, to whoever thinks you can't skim your way through rhythm sections, you actually can. The magical lean forward works wonders haha.
Love playing these games, and lots of improvements, but has a veryyy clunky feel to it at the moment.
The 'communities' are quiet, you can't see the race settings without joining either.
Create your own game and you can end up waiting 20 minutes before anyone/if anyone turns up.
Ultimately you're forced into 'quick race' most of the time. Sub 5 minute races, where you're stuck in a demolition derby for at least a lap, before it's all over and you rinse and repeat. Granted, at least there's a lobby of people, but, you still end up spending more time pre/post race waiting around, going through all the countdown clocks, than you do racing!
