I heard there was a day when Emig could really hit the hoops, so RC asked him for a little friendly advice. In heated discussions Emig kept telling RC that he'd saw him out of position, but RC said he only seen what he wanted to see. I guess Emig said RC's problems were definitely huckabucks, but this confused RC. Later, after liberating the local Dairy Queen of its hot fudge sundaes he thought about what Jeff had told him. "I seen the Huckabuck you did. If you would have saw it too, you could change your setup a little and overcome it like a champion!" Somehow Ricky knew exactly what Jeff meant, save for the part about the huckabuck. The story goes that Emig's definition of the huckabuck laid out conventional mistakes which might fit, but he also included the time honored moto word "swap" in its confines. Effectually, a powerfully descriptive term for a specific form of mistake was being erased to make way for the huckabuck, and it confused the 4 in obvious ways. Now Ricky was a great champion, and though he nor anyone else knew exactly what it was, he wanted to be sure his bike would never huckabuck. So, in keeping with Emig's advice about the intangibles of the movements involved, RC had his highly paid mechanic turn his bike setup into a sort of magnificent horror story. After going 24-0 the first time on this setup, he rode over to Jeff's house. When he saw Jeff he did a big burnout while admiring the roost, and popped a nice wheelie before riding up to his former mentor. "You seen that!?" said Ricky. "I seen it. Heart of a champion!" Jeff announced.

I did notice that Emig seemed distracted/disinterested by the end of last season. I don't know if he had his walking papers at that time or his attitude got him axed. I love RC but he's really got to step up his game to be on point, interesting, and fresh for a whole season. I mean he needs to hire someone that knows their shit to feed him in that ear bud all night long....and I'm not talking about the network producers. This shouldn't be hard for him to figure out...he became the GOAT by having the best people help him. I have no doubt he can succeed if he spends the time, money, and effort.

I do like that Ricky has a bit of emotion during the live racing. Like if someone gets sketchy or there is a questionable block pass, I kind of like that “ OHHHH MAN LOOK OUT!!!” response vs the measured response of something like - (in nerd voice) “now what you saw there ralph is called a huckabuck, and that happens when the rider rides over the whoop section and does not have full control of their motorcycle”.

Ricky didn't get where he is today by coasting. He has a challenge in front of him, I am confident he will rise to that challenge like he has shown us countless times before.

I understand your sarcasm about homeschooling and it's effects on the racers in later life but never under estimate a smart cookie like Ricky. He knows where he's lacking and will take measures to improve...or not...then he'll have a short lived announcing career.

I wish there was an option to just listen to the races raw with no announcing honestly. I respect RC's opinion on moto but it's just become too tainted by politics. That's one thing I dig about Langston. The guy is a straight shooter and doesn't try to dress things up too much.

If only the broadcasting company could send an ambient feed from the stadium floor as secondary audio on the side where most shows offer Spanish commentary (SAP). Then at least we'd have a choice.

Ralph's overblown "Legendary Chad Reed on the Yellow Suzuki", and "TOW-Mac on the green Monster Energy Kawasaki" coupled with RC's "I seen him" will be a constant annoyance. .

Or maybe I'll just mute them & run some 2 stroke audio from Straight Rhythm for background noise since I'm not a fan of 4 stroke exhaust tone anyway.

Wow, has it ever gotten expensive to watch live SX in Canada. From zero to almost $200 of our pesos! (kids, there isn’t going to be food for a couple of days).

And people complained about what we had.

Worse announcing, present Canadian series. Best announcing, Marc Travers. Closed captioning also works good, and let the racing speak for itself.

Anyway, let’s drop that gate, woohoo!

RC is the last person I would have guessed. I liked Fro, Weege would of been better than RC.

Like it was mentioned above, I cringed every time RC got the mic.

I wonder which individual is responsible for bumping Ricky up? Whoever it is must think Ralph slept with his wife and wants to wreck him as a man and announcer. Ricky's gonna suck harder than a toothless ho on crack.

Seriously though, announcers are important to the overall product. Ralph and Jeff may not have been the best ever but they were good. This is a boondoggle.
