There is the traditional preview show this Saturday, the 22nd. So if we don't find out before I would think we'll find out then as the announcers should be on this preview show I would think.

I wonder why it has to be a mystery? They easily could have announced it when they announced the tv deal.

I haven't been this excited since they revealed that new surfercross logo for 2019!

Sheheen (who sucks beyond belief) works for multiple networks, so I worry that his dumb ass will be back. It's not impossible that he's contracted through Feld rather than the rights-holder. He certainly cheerleads for the sport as if he is.

On the other hand, NBC already has its own motocross broadcast team (Weigandt/Langston/Christien) -- who are much better -- and NBC may want to use them, as it would provide continuity for the broadcasts across series.

Suffercross actually has a pretty rad ring to it.

Or, maybe people are just curious who it’s going to be.

Probably Zach Galifianakis with Silent Bob bringing in depth analysis, and Joy Behar reporting from the pits.

Ralph absolutely knows his shit. To say he's bad is false on so many levels.....now if he gets on your nerves or you don't like his hair that's one thing. He knows this sport in and out, he has announced everything from 1 wheel to 10 wheels. What is it that you don't like about Ralph?

I think Ralph is professional and does a good job. I do think, however, they would stop worrying about the new fan so much but that's something that's been said countless times. I doubt that changes. Even Weege agrees that they have to be called Red Hondas.

I think Ralph returns which I'm fine with. Not sure if Jeff will but I like both. I do hope they make it less entertainment and more sport but again, not holding my breath.

So much anger here... we could do a lot worse than Ralph. I’d like to see a more detail oriented and critical color announcer though. Could be Emig if he dials it up. Hard to find a knowledgeable Moto guy who can also be a great announcer. I’ll bet Reed would be good.

Whoever it is, spend some talking to fellow racers vice dumbing everything down to the “new fan.”

FFS. That's basically his job, to make the broadcast exciting, to give it a storyline, to add suspense. He sets a tone of excitement. Maybe we savvy Vitards can't be fooled, but he gives the average viewers a narrative structure that helps them understand and enjoy what they are seeing.

Anyone here with a SX-indifferent wife/SO, or a kid, will know what I mean. When Ralph gets excited, they'll turn their heads to the tube and start watching whatever's going down.

I do agree that the broadcast needs a more insightful color analyst to give Ralph more "meat" to work with. Mike Alessi is great in the booth; perhaps adding someone like him, or Daniel Blair, would help give the program more depth.

I wonder what the deal is with that? There was a vib out there that he wouldn't be back.

Emig sucked at MXoN too. He kept stumbling through his sentences as if he'd been toking up (again).

Just the sound of Sheheen's voice is fingernails on a chalkboard to me. I can hear him from the "triple crown" races: "All the STARS of Supercross!! Three times!!!!" Jeez, just shut the fuck up already.

The OEMs and sponsors like him, until that changes or he retires, the Ralph-isms stay.

From what I hear, Emig is out and Carmichael and Dungey are in. Haven’t heard any news on Ralph.
