Holy sh*t dude, I didn't do any of that. LOL, I didn't even quote your post. I just made an observation (in a stand-alone post), and you immediately assumed it was you I was talking about. Considering your reaction, it must have hit home.
the whole chad reed blaming bikes stuff is bullshit. he never blames the bike, he wants to improve the bikes. it isn't about saying its shit all together but wanting to improve the brand and make it better. theirs a difference.
And we cant say it doesn't work.. because every time he has his say and they make change... hes come out on top.
The whole Yamaha stuff... If you had a choice between an outdated bike and a new designed fuel injected bike.. what would you pick? lets not forget he come out with the #1 and a red plate on the Suzuki.
He speaks his honest truth. some see it as being a sook and some see it as a conversation of truth and his thoughts. I prefer to hear some one say what they think or feel about a goat trail track and not being able to get the front end set up right to suit the conditions then hearing the whole boring Dungey Podium Speech.

Another thing that struck me, which I think is a good trait for someone to have is, yes Chad Reed could of bent over or kissed ass and made a few more dollars, but he is not the guy to tell the boss everything is ok when it is clearly not just to collect a pay check, he is the guy to look the boss in the eye and tell him this is not the way it is meant to be and more so, he probably has a solution in mind, not just a problem to drop on his bosses lap.
It will be a sad day when Chad Reed has his last gate drop.
Sorry champ.. the Yamaha thing was well out the window before RV took it.
As mentioned.. it was more RV is happy to ride what ever and take it as it is. there for RV is the perfect person. liked by most, rides what ever and happy for a paycheck.
and plus.. Reed wanted to keep racing. you cant be an ambassador and a racer.
Where people like Reed and RC4 want to have an input and make change to bikes to continuously improve them.
That said it'll be interesting to see how his results compare.
Been a Reed fan ever since he crossed the pond.
When Reed says a bike is a piece of crap, he's a little bitch.
What a F'd up world we are becoming....
Pit Row
You could maybe argue the 02 YZ250f, but Reed had never ridden a tiddler, or a 250F fourstroke and whilst he did just fine, you are talking about one of the guys who truly thought he could beat anybody... not like most of the field who hope they do good.
03. Loved the Yamaha 250
04. Loved the Yamaha 250
05. Hated the Yamaha 250 – frame. So did DV and Ferry
06/07/08. Yamaha fourstrokes... listen to DV, Ferry, GL & Matthes about the various issues with those bikes. – carbs, frames, turning etc... Meanwhile, look at other brands development.
09. Loved the Suzuki
10. Didn't love the Kawi but got it right for him, got injured, won a few nat races. RV & Weimer note a significant improvement when they upgrade to the 12 frame mid-2011 nationals.
11. Loved the Honda
12. Loved the Honda
13. Loved the Honda. Hated the showa suspension. Barcia, Canard, Seely all agree. Basically forces Barcia off. Trey gets KYB and starts winning. No Honda 450 rider runs Showa until 2016.
14. Loves the Kawi and wins old as fuck till he grenades himself.
15. Loves the Kawi, bounces back and forth with air suspension but ultimately 22 sponsor stress is too much.
16. We just read.
17. We just read.
18. Broken ankle.
19. I bet he can do better than most people think if he gets a shot.
RC says his 03 Honda was fucked up and Reed's bike was great, look at the results.... but the Red four stroke was incredible and so was the Yellow bikes.... Reed and RC test the Zook for 05 and RC gets it ( I believe $ won the day) and it is a benefit until he retires....
JS said his 05 Kawi was the scariest bike he ever rode but the Kawi 450 was reportedly great 07/08, you still here Ferry/JT rave about it.
It plays out when you look at the three of them. Reed was killing RC end of 03. A year and a frame version later and suddenly RC can literally pass Reed on flat ground twice in a race.
I know you are all very passionate CR fans which is cool, while I like him and root for him, he is not my favorite rider so I see things from a different perspective.
Ive read every CR interview and story, heard a ton of podcasts about him, and with him, and heard enough stories about him to formulate my own opinion, right or wrong.
I still believe a few things regardless of you all piling up on me.
1. Chad Reed is a great champion
2. The sport needs more riders like him
3. I enjoy how he races, and how he interacts and lives his life
4. I personally believe he does blame the bike for his results, in his head its never his fault. I guess thats just what makes him keep going and thats fine.
5. I personally think he DID want the brand ambassadorship at Yamaha, bc I actually read in print where he was quoted as saying it, and I heard him say it with his own voice on a podcast. If Yamaha would have said you are the brand ambassador after last year he would have taken it.
6. He will be missed when he is gone, just like I miss RC, JS7, RD5, Trey Canard and others.
Thanks for chat and not getting nasty. I am moving over to the Mookie thread, that one is about to get good.
Peace
Shall we say front end feel as per the other riders all stated was better when the KYB swap happened?
Or is he just a whiny cunt?
